Regardless I want to drive Las Vegas Blvd this is a game not real life they cheat on certain things, getting to Drive Las Vegas Blvd would make it extremely exciting, especially at night. All the Casinos it would be a scenic drive.

Im hoping that along the 10 there is the Control City sign that says Indio Other Desert Cities. It’s along the 10 at the 111 jct in Palm Springs in case anyone wants to take a look.

There was discussion of a sign on the 70 about exits and I wanted to add I hope that sign makes it into the rebuilds.

I did a delivery to San Francisco today and it made me more confident that SF does not need an overhaul. It needs updated textures, better visibility of the Golden Gate Bridge, and a less abrupt transition south of the city. But the hills are great, the Golden Gate and Bay bridges are great, and The Embarcadero is great. SF is probably the best city in California in terms of not feeling generic.

SF is in the same boat of Las Vegas, a major overhaul and refresh getting things right with main highways, intersections in the area is enough.

Most of work to fix SF is the I-80/US 101 interchange, acesses of Golden Gate, a refresh of Embarcadero and downtown skyline, and if possible change the port with SFO and let Oakland be the port of Bay Area. Since I'm not very familiar with the area, can't add much to indicate new freeways.

i believe that the bay bridge should be widened as well...to at least 4 lanes. in real life its 5 lanes across and at the moment we have...only two...

im confident that they would be able to do this because in portland both the freemont & marquam bridge have 4 lanes in game (they also do irl)

I'm with oldmanclippy on SF. I don't think SF needs a major overhaul. I wouldn't even say Vegas got a major overhaul. A lot of Vegas stayed in place. Only the major roads for the most part got updated. San Fran does however need a more accurate I-80@US-101 and Embarcadero exit. Then update all the textures and signs. A nice viewpoint to have is the Golden gate along with Alcatraz Island. I visited the island on a tour and it was a very interesting place. Its iconic to the bay area. It doesn't serve ATS purpose other than scenery though. But if SCS is to capture the Bay area the right way, You can't leave out Alcatraz. The best part is that its out aways from the Golden Gate and I-80 so it can be a LOD model if no viewpoint is added for it.

For the bridge though, I'd only go up to 3 lanes. It worked in Portland because they worked it into the design from the beginning. In a retrofit application, if the entire area isn't revamped, you are limited in what you can do. Trying to fit extra things into an already tight spot will be more difficult that starting from scratch. For some areas of the exting map, you don't want to burn a ton of time if you don't have to. Only do what you must for more accuracy and move on tho the next.

San Francisco there space and scale limitations and Oakland more opportunity to improve. Oldclip right its more facelifting it.

They can take time to improve base map. Near future rebuild Los Angeles or relocate US-60 east of Phoenix and restrip old I-5 sections. Also, improve signage as stop gap measure till they rework the area.

Its better to do small bits of improvements on the base map like how Cialas was done on ETS2 basemap.

Agreed. Incremental changes to the base map overtime at least lets people know its not forgotten. I think each major update in ATS should have something done to the base map somewhere. All the focus shouldn't be just on California but it does need it the most since it was the first to be developed. I definitely agree on the I-5 corridor. Getting it up to par would be nice. California in general would require at least a 3 man team to rebuild/rework it. 2 mappers and 1 asset guy or even 2 assets guys. Let them work that project if the manpower is there. If not, perhaps once Texas is done, slide a few over to it to work it for the next 2-3 years or so until its more up to par. By that time, we could have all the Great Plains in place and a seriously good looking map.
