Given the choice, would you mostly drive older or newer trucks in ATS?

This poll isn't about getting a feature added or anything. I'm just curious what the responses would be. The options are also a bit open to interpretation. I think most people probably have an idea what counts as older/classic and newer/modern though.

For example the Volvo VNL in ATS is modern. A 1970s Kenworth W900 (of which there is a modernized version in ATS) is a older/classic truck.

Feel free to comment on what it is that makes you choose the option you did.

I answered "classic" because I prefer the styling and enjoy the more raw sound the engines make. I also like the simplicity of older machines.

If the poll was about which I'd drive in the physical world... I wouldn't be so sure :P I'd probably appreciate the additional sound proofing and extra milliage per gallon the newer trucks get. I'd probably like to drive both types.

I'm also guessing that it's easier to shift gears in modern trucks. Obviously this isn't a problem in ATS though.

I'd rather pick an older truck with a pre-2000 engine so as to be exempt from e-logs.

As much as I prefer the raw roar of the older engines, I'd still have to go with modern. The only classic that is a must have for me is the K100. Others are cool but I don't have to have them.

It's a bit hard to choose really. I'd love some older trucks from my favourite era of vehicles, the 1990s and 2000s, like the Freightliner Century Class, the Kenworth T2000, and the Peterbilt 386/387. At the same time though, I'd like to drive the new Freightliner Cascadia, the new Volvo VNL, and the Western Star 5700. The Western Star 49X is really great truck too. I wish there was an option to choose both in the poll, but I guess I'll pick newer trucks.

Remember the poll is choosing which you would "mostly" drive. So if you like both older and newer you just have to guess which you'd drive slightly more in ATS, given the option.

Thanks for the replies in the thread so far. Interesting reading what people are into. I'm checking out some of the trucks mentioned. The K100 does indeed look really nice.
