I need an option for both cause I drive both in the game. First truck I drove in real life was a 1989 Freightliner FLD120? (it was a glider kit) I was like 16 at the time. Like pigbrother I to drive XBSs FLC. Now some of the older models offer very cool accessories. With older trucks the most common things in real life I see are ARI Legacy Sleepers

The K100 does indeed look really nice.

Oh it is, lol. Its one of the most successful mods on ATS/ETS2 right now. If you don't know about it, check her out. viewtopic.php?p=1187338#p1187338. The mod is nearly flawless with lots of options. You can also subscript to it on Steam.

OH man, i sure love a Modern Fleet truck(OTR Style) on anything 2k+ miles.
But for like shorter hauls and more technical drives i Enjoy a Classic (OO) style, preferably 70-80-90s Kenworths, Macks, and Pete´s.

I generally like to flip back and forth between the older trucks and the modern ones every now and then, but I think the slight leg up goes to the older ones. I love the fancy complicated dash clusters of the newer trucks and the downright superior visibility, but for me sound of a truck is more important than sight and well older trucks just sound better.

Modern because you have better visibility and they have fancier gauges but if the 5700xe ever does come I am driving that truck because it's got a classic feel and its got better visibility however the 2 piece windshield might not do well for visibility but it's for realism
