REKT!! You're Doing it Wrong.
REKT!! You're Doing it Wrong.
Alright I already have a thread where I get into some mischief and pull some shenanigans, intentionally, but what about accidental accidents? I don't see a thread about that anywhere. Are y'all perfect drivers, or just ashamed to admit when you screw up? I've seen the AI thread, so I know some of you are getting into some pretty wicked crashes. Lets see those accidents. I like to document my really bad wrecks. The intentional, and the not so intentional. This thread is dedicated to the latter. Inspired by my latest avatar.
This is probably my worst "accident" so far. I clipped this truck, went over the railing and off the bridge. If I remember correctly, he was going too slow and my only option was to rear end him or try to pass him on the shoulder. I opted for the shoulder and the shoulder won. Barely scratched my new b-triple. No cargo damage. Most of the truck damage I think was from the initial collision with the other truck.

How can I not unhitch and pose for that one?

Then just a few rollovers.

I swear that blue car caused this one.

Coming down the mountain from John Day just a bit too fast.

The load was pretty secure I guess.

Barely a scratch. And is it just me, or do flatbeds seem a little more top heavy than box trailers? Those seem to want to tip over more often.

Riding the rail. C'mon now, I'm sure everyone has rolled over once or twice in this corner in southern Utah just before the Arizona border. Gets me every time xD.

The guardrail saved me from a complete rollover. Surprised I didn't rollover that too.

Drove away like nothing happened.

These are hilarious I can't say I've ever gotten into situations as...dramatic as these, but when I first started playing ETS2 I flipped my truck on almost every delivery. My mishaps now usually happen because I'm distracted and I don't notice the car ahead braking, it's rare that I get through a long trip without rear ending anyone

Outside of falling through the map, I can't think of anything truly bad lol.
Just a Texas boy who used to want to be a trucker, and a love of Big Rigs... but now ATS has turned said love into an obsession.

A couple times I've taken on a curve too quickly or understeered and disaster ensued. Once, on Donner Pass, where the median is just a jersey barrier, I hit the barrier and flipped onto my side, but the other times this has happened, I hit an oncoming truck head-on and had to call in a tow.
I've seen the AI get into much funnier mishaps, like a school bus flipped over on the interstate, or an intercity bus go flying:

Re: REKT!! You're Doing it Wrong.
The last accident I had was between my truck and a stop sign. I underestimated the off-tracking of the trailer, and I didn't take the turn wide enough. I looked in my mirror as I was nearing the end of the turn, and I saw the trailer strike the sign just in front of the tandems. This accident could have been prevented if I had setup for my turn better and watched the mirror while I was in the turn.

This one isn't an accident, but it's my awful parking job. In lots that don't have pavement markings on the ground to use as a guide, I find it very hard to park straight. My truck is the one in the middle. I'm pretty sure it's taking up two parking spots here.

^ I always use the truck near me as a reference.

If there are no lines to mark the spots, then "your spot" is the area you need!
As for the stop signs, I take them down all the time by underestimating the trailer's path. Oh well, no one needed it anyway. They should put up a yield sign next time.
