Rather interesting that they would update an inaccessible part of an unreleased map in a beta patch ;)

quick question! Has anyone seen the Mack R tanker truck Al lately? I've seen it 4 times ever since 1.39. Is it more common now or still rare to see? :I

I personally liked 1.40.0.69 the most. Compared with the first open beta versions, they reduced the "eye adaption effect" but the outside world from inside the cabin still looked slightly overexposed which gave the scenery more brightness especially around noon. Bright surfaces (including clouds) can be blinding on a
sunny day, this is just realistic and i really like this effect but with 1.40.0.72 it looks like they reduced this effect so much (probably because of a few complains that it hurts people's eyes) that it has almost become non existent. At least that is the impression that i got during my 2 hours of playing yesterday (and such impressions can be deceiving as even under the old pre 1.40 lighting it kind of changed steadily, on one day i thought "man that really doesn't look that bad"
while on the next day it was like "oh god why does it look so horrible today ughhh" ). But anyways, like some others mentioned before, the scenery in
sunny weather now looks kind of dull to me and is a step back compared to previous versions. Gonna try the new update 1.40.0.73 only tonight so of course
can't say anything about it yet.

edit: If you believe the first impressions over from the ETS2 side, the new version looks really nice :D Now i'm really curious.

Perhaps we need a “put on sunglasses” option that darkens the screen for bright sunny days 8-)

I have done a test, I have taken 3 screenshots in good weather at the same hour of the day at 12 am (midday) in the same exact place (Salt Lake City) and also tested this at 4pm (I got same result) by using the console command and changing the Skyboxes from there. What I got the game uses the same clear sky skybox for 3 different lightings:

g_set_skybox 0 (yellow-ish tint)
[ external image ]

g_set_skybox 1 (red-ish tint, probably used as a transition between good and bad weather, not sure I am not an expert on this)
[ external image ]

g_set_skybox 6 (blue-ish white-ish tint? can't tell)
[ external image ]

Could someone enlighten me why these different choices in the same hour, especially between skybox 0 and 6?

Why? Because weather are not the same everyday. :)

exactly! I've got this in my mind but forgot to write. sometimes it's really so bright.we should have been use that sunglass in the cabin when it's necessary.
