I' have seen that fog coupled with heavy rain only. I like to see it with no rain early in the morning like it hapens some time in real life.
There are naive questions, tedious questions, ill-phrased questions, questions put after inadequate self-criticism. But every question is a cry to understand the world. There is no such thing as a dumb question.

I'm the opposite. Its very rare for me to see both heavy fog and rain. For me, its typically just fog. I think both variations should happen. With dx11 now, I was honestly hoping for a more diverse weather system. Outside of snow and sleet there is light, moderate, heavy and severe rain. There are thunderstorms, sand storms and hail storm. The last three are region specific more than likely. There is dense fog and there is light fog. When it comes to weather, I always think about the weather system in Fernbus

I've driven through conditions like that in real life years ago when driving back with my sister from our grand parents. It stressed me out so much that I felt sick for the next 24 hours.

I'm not sure about other regions, but in the eastern United States, you typically only see mist or light rain when it is foggy. It's pretty rare to have a heavy downpour while it's also foggy.

Can happen in the Northeast, though rare. I'd also like to see the rain intensity get ramped up. Seen it rain so hard that it is near whiteout conditions.

^Yesssss. I am really hoping that for the Great Plains, SCS could develop severe thunderstorms. Its very very common in Tornado Alley which is why tornadoes are so common here. The cold and warm fronts collide and we get some really nasty weather here. Rain can get so heavy that you have to pull over and let it pass. Some park under bridges. Most people put on flashers just to give a visual of space. Low visibility in severe rain comes from how much rain falls so fast that it bounces off all surfaces. That bouncing is what makes it foggish in a way and makes it very difficult to see. Flash flooding and heavy heavy rains is going to happen a few times a year in this region no if ands or butts. I understand many things are not possible in the game but at the same time, one can't say its impossible until you try. Sometimes the technology just might not be available at the moment, but in due time, what's to say it can't be developed. Perhaps we are restricted due to pc performance. There could be a slider or something for severity. If you pc can't handle max, dial it down and you don't limit other pc's that can handle the max load. Options....option, option. This is what makes or breaks the game for many graphically.

I really think severe thunderstorm would do Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas.... some serious good. The immerion level would go for sure. It will be awhile before seasons come but knocking out more weather conditions now just adds to the game appeal.

^^^^ That would be amazing, more realistic and varied weather to the extremes would be so amazing, especially coupled with seasons. I'd be happy if we had progress on this for 1.42 which I think with no year end DLC will probably need to be feature heavy.

^Yeah that's what I'm hoping for. A feature heavy Winter. I don't see either game releasing a dlc at all. I think Texas goes to Q1/Q2 of 2022 and HoR could get pushed closer to Q3/Q4. I wouldn't even rule out Q1/Q2 of 2023 if HoR is even larger than Texas.

Would be nice to see a real weather option where it would download the current weather conditions for the area and keep refreshing the weather at users settings like every 10min, 15..30.ect

No doubt any further development in the lighting engine will be finished before they will address weather. Why touch things twice.
