Another culprit is the Nvidia overlay. I recommend to turn that off. Should greatly reduce fps spikes.

How do you turn nvidia overlay off I keep getting random stutters in 1.40 but It didn't happen at start off the 1.40 beta just started happing as it got further in to beta and now still does it in 1.40 release iam running a gtx 1050 everything on high and run fine before and now I've tried everything on medium makes no difference to the random stutters even when Ive disabled ssao or have it on high still happens?

Go to Geforce experience then to settings and switch overlay off.

I run a 1050 too.

I been having the same issues too. I disabled vysnc in game but have it on in the nvidia control panel.

I actually turned my graphic settings down which helped somewhat. Now I can turn SSAO on and turn my scaling up.

The new DLCs are always bad about stuttering especially in the cities.

Good info Larry. Didn’t know turning off the overlay would help with fps. I’ll have to give that a try.

deinstalling the whole GeForce Experience crap would be a better option

you only update them when needed, i dont touch my good working drivers if there is no valid reason for

Does uninstalling GeForce Experience also uninstall the NVIDA Control Panel, or is the Control Panel part of the driver software itself?
