At some point in the future, if they tackle Arizona, I would love to see the Grand Canyon get an overhaul and a nice viewpoint. It hasn't aged well over the years.
I would put it as a long-term wish though, reworking CA and NV is much more important.

Yeah, the Colorado Plateau in Arizona could really use some improvement, especially with the 191. In the game it's a straight stretch with little elevation change and even less scenery, while IRL it's a more jagged route with some decent grades, a few towns, and many nice rock formations. It'd also be nice to see a proper grade up the Echo Cliffs for US 89; just check out the view from the top, where you get a great look at the Vermillion Cliffs, Marble Canyon, and the Kaibab Plateau. I'd also love to see the Grand Canyon given a makeover like in this mod, which recreates it much more realistically.

Handy maps and diagrams.

Furthermore, I consider that I-80 across Nevada must be redone next.

@gandalf7472000 yes you remember correctly, that's why I wrote above that I want Northern California to be reworked in update 1.41

Well, California update was first teased back in December with some advanced WIP pictures (which made me think it could have been a go for 1.40), so it's in the work for at least some 6ish months now. I think we can consider all the Northern Cali down to Sacramento almost done. I hope US 50 will make it as well.

6 months is long but it's progress depends on manpower. It's not certain if North California ready, also we should have seen new blog if it would close to end.

@FrancescoMasci yeah that was my thinking as well that we'd get Phase 1 for 1.40. On the xmas stream, we where told that they had been working it for about 3 months prior to the xmas stream. So yeah at this point its 6-7 months in the works. We have no idea what phase 1 means in detail, when we get it and what's really included. But like @clifflandmark stated, its about manpower. The way [staff]Jakub[/staff] talked, its like they are only 2-3 of them rebuilding and more are to come in the future. We can probably look at the rebuild as a new state. We know how long it takes for a full map team, now we have a fraction of a team rebuilding a state so that's going to drag out development time even longer. But its free so we can't complain too much, but you know people will. No matter what, California will be much better than what it was. The screenshots did look like they were far along to me as well but those where just screenshots which could be deceiving.

If phase 1 doesn't come with 1.41 then no point in looking for California until this Winter or beyond. Will that include a few city rebuilds, not telling. But there is nothing we can do but wait. In the meantime, at least Wyoming comes this Summer for 1.41. I like to assume something else debuts with 1.41 as well. ETS2 got Iberia with 1.40. Colorado came with 1.39. Each game typically gets something added to it per update. So ETS2 will need something other than just maintenance just like ATS got 8x4/4x2 chassis for 1.40 but no map. I'd like to think MP is that feature for 1.41. The new WoTr isn't talked about anymore and is a lost thought but at some point, it too will debut. Is that for 1.41 perhaps? Multi drop is another good one.

We have one more full week in this month and we are into May. If we are to get any type of teasers as to what's coming for 1.41, May/June would be the time frame to get something as we approach 1.41 open beta.

I believe that once the Iberia and Renault truck hype ends, we’ll see the first teases of 1.41 and at that time we will know if some part of California (and how much) will make to the update.
For me, if it is the same quality as Germany is completely fine to me. The diffference between Austria and Souther Germany is astonishing.

Yep....right on que. This is the month I am actually expecting 1.41ob to kick in. Wyoming is in that bi weekly blog period so time to start ramping up for it. This month and next month will probably be ATS heavy for a June/July Wyoming release. I am still keeping my fingers crossed to see phase 1 of California. Otherwise we won't see it until 1.42 perhaps.

Today's blog does indicate 1.41 is near though. I'm not surprised to see a new feature come into play. I wonder if there will be something else coming for the update.
