I am confident that we will have news this weekend, maybe Friday. @Flight50, I always hunt for tips on SCS posts and photos. ready to travel to Texas, visit your friend, now in multiplayer version. great year for ats, as well as 2020.

Yeah, I'm afraid of that, lol. I'll be on the road tomorrow and it will be difficult to not enjoy all of the Friday hype if a blog comes tomorrow. Luckily my trip is only 4.5-5 hrs but still.

I'll definitely try MP just to get see what its like. I am really warming up to the VTC concept. Pavel acknowledge it and if it become reality, that would definitely make SCS MP very attractive. Not to mention SCS will have working AI. I can't play without the AI. As bad as it is, I still have to have it. It would be nice if AI adjustments were part of the 1.41 update to help MP. At least address a few things AI wise. Merging onto highways would have to be priority no. 1. Playing MP, convoying and having issues with AI merging is a bad thought to think of.

Why do i have a feeling MP will be as chaotic like GTA:O lobbies ?? SMH

Ex: Trucks lined/piled up everywhere ... etc. etc.

it cant be chaotic because there are no public lobbies, only friend invites, they have to build up a system first and doing a full blown multiplayer ala GTA:O will only end in a disaster

I agree with Carl. SCS is smarter than that and knows they must approach this logically. This is a big chance they are taking and Pavel is very careful about SCS's image. People already think SCS runs TruckersMP. SCS MP will separate the two now. Giving us the opportunity on a small scale is much better than keeping MP out the equation altogether. Baby steps is the SCS way. They do things incrementally to diminish the impact as much as possible. They are a small company and can't afford huge catastrophes so I don't have an issue with them trying to watch themselves.

For a few years now, Pavel has mentioned having a small team run events and more of a social aspect. To me, it sounds like Gavin is ahead of that. So events, MP, WoT...those are probably things he and his team are in charge of. A lot of gaming is done in MP fashion so it was only a matter of time. TruckersMP is cool for some but it has its issues. If SCS can come up with something that work better, kudos to SCS for taking on the task.

I remember the GTA:O launch where it took 2-3 full weeks before it was stable enough to actually play. As enjoyable as it would be to have chaotic lobbies...

GTA IV already had a multiplayer wich was the testing for R* to go full out with GTA:O, so they didnt really go full in

There will be issues in the beginning I am sure. There always are with updates. Nothing is perfect from the jump. But the key is to remove the major bugs in closed and internal testing. On a massive scale, more things are bound to pop up that just can't be accounted for. But that is the good thing about experimental and open beta that SCS does. I think experimental 1.41 ob is possible. But it could just as easily go straight to o.b. Smooth is the key so it will take time to iron out things as usual.

Whatever is allowed with SCS MP will be revealed eventually. Whether mods are allowed, limited or straight vanilla is the question we'd all like to know. Such limitations could be deal breakers for some. Otherwise, won't be to concerned. One thing that can't happen though is for TruckerMP to be more advanced. Other than allowing more people at once, TruckersMP shouldn't have the upper hand. They just started allowing map mods to I don't see why SCS can't follow.

We just got confirmation of a new photo mode. I'd like to think of that as a thought that SCS could be creating some type of Livery if VTC's will actually be a thing. Maybe it won't come day one 1.41 but it can be something for the future. If Pavel talked VTC's before, so it has to be something on their minds. There is a skinning artist at SCS. Perhaps that person could be tasked with an entire Livery system in regards to liveries. That would keep him/her busy for sure. That's a library that can always get added to. I'd make a very basic system for livery....the foundation. Then I'd create dlc on top of that. If you want more.....pay for it.

*Revisited Photo Mode
*Possibly first part of California rework
*Convoy Multiplayer mode

^You are missing one obvious one.......well its assumed at least...."Wyoming". If Wyoming rolled on to 1.42, that would mean ATS went thru some major issues to push Wyoming to 1.42. Eventually, Wyoming will have to get updated on Steam though. If 1.41ob updates the extension roads from Idaho, Utah and Colorado....Wyoming is without a doubt 1.41.
