Wow, I'm seeing Utah : Salt Lake City more than once. How?? It's the most failed city in Utah and it's one of the biggest failure in Utah DLC. So I'll start with Utah.

Utah : Not Salt Lake City, not Salt Lake City, Not Salt Lake City and ummm not Salt Lake City. Utah came in late 2019 and it has mountain models like this.

And Salt Lake City is looking like this in real life.

If I'm not mistaken those mountains are about 3000 meters long. Buuuut somehow it looks like this in the game.

I can count bushes on the thing that supposed to be "mountain".
Same as for Ogden, I love city layout tho but I'll say

Utah : Provo.

California : San Francisco

Nevada : Las Vegas

Arizona : Tucson

NM : Las Cruces

Oregon : Portland

Washington : Seattle ( shout out for Spokane as well )

Idaho : Coeur D'Alene

Colorado : Colorado Springs.

I remember seeing similar complaints about Denver. But the "real life" pictures look to me like they've got some camera lens magic going on.

Here's what I see from Google street view:

Am I just totally looking at this from the wrong angle?

California: San Francisco because it has this urban atmosphere.
Nevada: Vegas because I love the atmosphere especially in the night.
Arizona: Flagstaff, home to the tallest peak in the state.
New Mexico: Santa Fe/Albuqueque because I like the architechure of the buildings there. Pueblo style buildings quite unique to NM.
Oregon: Astoria because I love the bridge crossing the Colombia River, good views on the bridge.
Washington State: Seattle, because I love the city's skyline. Also good views on Lake Washington by I-90.
Utah: St George because it has good desert views and it is located nearby the scenic Virgin River Gorge.
Idaho: Twin Falls because I like the bridge crossing the Snake River that cuts through the canyon, nice views there.
Colorado: Colorado Springs because I love the views of Pikes Peak.

@Xaagon Real life doesn't looking like Google Street view. https://youtu.be/SjVzppc8HoQ?t=99

Beside not only that, I'm talking about the mountain texture as well. The things behind the SLC is a lifted up ground texture. Not a spesific mountain texture which makes it hideous.

Yeah, the real life photos are misleading. For those photos of SLC, the photographer went a good distance away from the city and took the photo from a certain angle to get more dramatic peaks in the background. When viewing both the city and the mountains from a distance, the size difference between the natural and man-made mountains is easier to gauge than if you were closer to the city center.

In this post I explain this with some other examples, and I use this technique when taking screenshots all the time: just move the camera out as far as it will go, position it so your truck and chosen landmark are composed the way you want them, narrow FOV to zoom in on your subjects, adjust color saturation to taste. It makes for some really nice photos.

Handy maps and diagrams.

Furthermore, I consider that I-80 across Nevada must be redone next.

Yeah I got u. But I'm living in a city which is 25-30km close to a 3900m high mountain. So the mountain is recognisable from every part of the city easily and that mountain is kind of symbol of the city. There are some wallpaper photos that has taken with a special rendering like you mention and the mountain is looking way bigger than it should be. But also when I look at the mountain on Google street it looks tiny. Not looking like the real. When I take a random photo with my camera it also isn't looking like the reality. It's bigger than Google Maps but still smaller than the reality. In reality it's bigger than the normal camera photo but smaller than wallpaper photos which has special rendering.

So at the end it's not looking realistic at all. Not only that also I showed an in game photo which taken around Provo. There are mountains which is looking like a mountain and their height are pretty much same with SLC Mountains. While making a realistic looking mountain in the DLC and making unrealistic mountain behind of the SLC isn't making a sense to me.

If they make a bit longer, not much or they can keep the height, but use the special texture instead of lifted up ground texture with some bushes on it (not trees) just like Arizona textures, it'll be good. It'll look like mountain even if it doesn't have height. On Idaho there are lots of models like that. I'm not talking about snowy mountains in Idaho. There are normal ones which looks like a mountain with their texture and shape. But now SLC looks like it released in 2016 not late 2019. So it's a big failure for me.
