Truck setups and you.
Truck setups and you.
I'm wondering what people are running as a setup with the truck you're running in game. It is not to judge in any sort of way since it is a game and is to be played to the user's taste.
Not talking paint job, wheels, cabin accessories or since tire ratings are not a thing in ATS, tires. Talking about engine, transmission, chassis, cabin.
I've recently shifted from flatbed/heavy haul to reefer.

In a world full of swift drivers, I'm an O/O.
Re: Truck setups and you.
I focus on heavy haul and RM doubles in the game, and my ride of choice is the Western Star 49X with the following specs:
- 72” sleeper
- 6x4 with 300 gallon capacity
- 600 HP DD16 with 2050 ft lbs of peak torque
- DT12 OVX transmission

I focus on wandering the game world and couldn't care less what cargo or trailer I end up dragging from one part of the world to the other. I drive a

Re: Truck setups and you.
Primary truck is W900 aerocab sleeper. I mainly do heavy haul and have the most miles on this truck.
8x4 chassis
550 hp 3406e CAT
18 speed with 3.90 rears
24.5 tires
Secondary truck Pete 389 flat top. Used for flatbed, grain trailer, and reefer.
6x4 chassis
800 hp N14 (hot rod truck )
18 speed with 3.70 rears
24.5 tires
Also have a Cascadia when I’m feeling like doing Fleet queen stuff.

At the moment:
Intl LoneStar
6x4 chassis
Sky Rise sleeper
450hp/1650tq X15 Efficiency series
13 speed Eaton manual
Spends it's time running dry van with ~20t in the box.

Re: Truck setups and you.
Models: Everything except 389 and W900 (I have one 389 for heavy haul)
Cab: Highest Variant
Chassis: 6x2 with the highest fuel tank capacity (SB for 49X)
Engine: 500-530 hp, avoiding Cummins except for International Lonestar
Gearbox: 12 Speed overdrive. Exceptions are 13 speed Eaton for Peterbilt 579 and Kenworth T680 and Eaton Endurant for International Lonestar
Trailers:
All with two axles. 53’ front tandem for van trailers, 48’ spread for Flatbeds/Sliding Tarps, 45’ for Lowboys, 43’ for tankers and 40’ for Container and Logging trailers.

Re: Truck setups and you.
I commonly use a Peterbilt 579 with a 6x4 chassis, day cab, 450 hp Cummins X15, an 18 speed with a diff ratio of about 2.64. My original setup was the same chassis- and cabin-wise, but before VSTerninus’s Caterpillar 3408 engine pack ceased to exist, I used to run the 450 hp/1460 ft-lbs of torque version of the 3408 mated to a 16 speed transmission with a 3.08 diff ratio.
