There was no teaser for a San Francisco rework. That theory was already debunked.

What are everyone's thoughts on whether 1.42 will bring mid roof variants to AI trucks: International LT & LoneStar, Mack Anthem, Freightliner New Cascadia, and mid roof + raised roof + SBA for the Western Star 49X?

I posted some time ago on the 1.41 bug thread regarding AI trucks parked at truck stops + OTR and I'm beginning to think SCS must be working on something behind the scenes.

My guess is zero honestly for mid roof variants. The focus is more than likely populating ATS with more different models in general vs more models of the same truck with different trims.

Added speculation changelog/s for 1.42:

- New city in Wyoming: Cody
- US-14 added to Wyoming DLC
- Various road signs reworked across US.

1.42 is expected to release on:
Mid-Late October for the experimental and open betas

I won't speculate when US-14/Cody is added but the next update would make me quite pleased. Another round of California would be nice as well. I don't know if they are ready for cities yet but getting to I-80 would be nice. I'd like to see that push for I-80 heading toward Wyoming. If SCS can roll in CA-99 North of I-80 along with CA-20, that would round out North of I-80 as far as roads.

If we have another chance at a truck, 1.42 would be it. I still hope DX12 eob can kick in just like SCS did DX11. Run it in beta for an entire update or two just like DX11. Let people run it thru the ringer go get it ready. It would be cool to see something new with 1.42. So maybe we can get a blog on 1.42 and what to expect come early to mid Fall.

If we get Cody, I think it's more likely to be after/with Montana TBH. But ya never know.

For 1.42 I'm thinking nothing major, mostly general under the hood updates, minor bug fixes, the Volvo DLC.

I'm still thinking the driving academy thing is a possibility though.

LOL, nope. Unless they're going to enroll their AI into it.

I don't expect SCS to release Cody 1.42 or eventually, it might never come. They hardly come back newly released DLC, that road in Iberia was an exception. ATS had any roadside add-ons but it took time. I hope part II reskin California, perhaps an already mentioned driving school. Hard to predict something else.

@jcpinho My thoughts excactly. I don't expect US-14 to come with 1.42. Maybe it won't come ever. SCS is hardly known for adding much roads after map releases. A24 in Iberia was not really an exception as it was already in the making but didn't make it in time for release. Of course this might be the case with US-14 too but then they would have possibly mentioned it already.

New road implementations came with the 1.38 patch (US-191 and UT-56) in July 2020 so there is always hope but it's far from beeing a safe bet.

If not happend until then I don't necessarily expect US-14 to come with Montana either as there are no real connectors between the road and Montana. Besides they will have their hands full to connect all the loose dots of Idaho and Wyoming with the Montana DLC.

I'd really wish they have a small team (2-3 persons) that does the mapping of the "most wanted" missing routes in all parts of the map.

My wish for 1.42 is mod support for convoy. I agree with the previous posts implementation of the driving school feature might be a good bet.

In the blog post about Yellowstone, is hinted that they intend to expand more the park in the future, which may include in addition to US-89, US-14. They know it was a community complaint, so I believe they can add it, either in 1.42 or in a future update. Saying it will never happen, I find it hard for not make.
