Volvo Machines DLC
Re: Volvo Machines DLC
I agree with axl135. Might not be as popular as others, but they are out there.
I haven't seen the arm handler but the others I have. The arm handler is more specific than the others. I'm not near logging though. The articulated truck is the one I've seen the most. I'm sure SCS did their proper research. Otherwise ATS wouldn't have it.
I do agree with John Deere and Caterpillar but Volvo got in first. I don't think the others will follow so quickly for the construction sector. John Deere construction is all over the job site near my house but I'd rather see them for the agriculture sector. The project near my house is massive so all types of equipment brands are on site.

My post are only thoughts and ideas. Don't assume it makes ATS.

Re: Volvo Machines DLC
Thank you SCSsoftware
Re: Volvo Machines DLC
Perhaps the relationship between Volvo and SCS has been established for some time, I am sure that SCS knocked on the door of CAT, Komatsu or John Deere and did not see a prompt response, Volvo VC opened the door immediately when they heard the call.bobgrey1997 wrote: ↑23 Sep 2021 16:41 Just because it is listed in their US site doesn't mean they are the "leading manufacturer...", or even that they sell very well. That is why I said "ALMOST non-existant".
Go find any contruction site, quarry, or lumber yard and you will almost certainly find Caterpillar and Deere equipment, but very few, if any, Volvo machines.

Nobody forces anything on you here. Don't like the DLC, don't buy it. It really doesn't require a degree in rocket science to figure it out...bobgrey1997 wrote: ↑23 Sep 2021 16:35 Maybe SCS should be looking after licensing with Deere and Caterpillar instead of trying to force this Eurocrap into ATS.
The smallest details always make the biggest difference.

Re: Volvo Machines DLC
I don't know about other parts of the US, but I see Volvo construction equipment being used and transported around here on the east coast all the time. Yes, Deere and Caterpillar are more common, but I do definitely see lots of Volvo equipment too.bobgrey1997 wrote: ↑23 Sep 2021 16:35 To me, this DLC is counteractive to the immersion, as these machines are almost non-existant in the US. I have never seen this kind of equipment from Volvo before.

Re: Volvo Machines DLC
It also doesn't take a degree in rocket science to figure out that I never said anything about me. I said they forced it into ATS, not onto me.
So, it seems that Volvo is common on the East Coast, especially north of the Virginias. I haven't been out that way much yet (thankfully). However, I have been to all states several times except for Florida and some of the New England states, and as I said I have not seen any of this equipment from Volvo. Not saying a few couldn't have been hiding in plain sight surrounded by Caterpillar and Deere, but they are definitely not as prominent as SCS would like us to think.
I just hope this doesn't cause Caterpillar to never allow their brand into the game.

I can see the Jobs in the trailer explorer, but they do not exist in the market. Do I have to explore a specific part of the map?

Re: Volvo Machines DLC
This seems to be rather common when updating cargoes, economy, or maps. Try resting and fast traveling a few times. This should reset the job markets.
These cargoes are likely only available at some companies, so you will need to have visited a city which has those companies (though, Quick Jobs may give you a larger range of options).

Re: Volvo Machines DLC
This Volvo equipment place is here in DFW. I wish this dlc gave licensed buildings as well. An actually Volvo place could be licensed but a place that perhaps rents or has multiple brands, then SCS may not be allowed to combine.

Re: Volvo Machines DLC
I've seen volvo equipment in Colorado, it's not just an east coast thing. What made me happy is new flatbed cargo. It isn't much but it is a start.
In a world full of swift drivers, I'm an O/O.
