That map is still stair stepping the map so its not really different, just different order. There are many scenarios for stair stepping though. The order varies the most with stair stepping. If not b-lining to Florida, making a C shaped map with gaps or not doing the map in columns....stair stepping is the only other option. That is the most diverse and has the widest range of options.

The map works for sure. I'm ready for 2024 the most. I think the identity of ATS goes to another level. 2025-2026 knocks out almost 2/3 of the US.

@55sixxx Are you subtly advocating for the partitioning of Washington, California, and Texas into multiple smaller states?

Pavel promised the developer jump will be efficient after Texas, so the Northeast could be by 2030 tbh, but it is hella dense though. Afraid of it in 1:20.

In Louisiana, it is not as bad, as a drive from Baton to Lafayette is only merely an hour. However in 1:20, that would only be three minutes. My suggestion off I-49 could have exits in Shreveport (I-20), Stonewall, US-84, Natchitoches (LA-6), Alexandria (US-165), and Opelousas (US-190), and I-10.

It is very likely that research is underway in Louisiana

I doubt it. There is no public research thread for it yet

There is one now: viewtopic.php?f=139&t=303994

I found a bit odd that the Oklahoma and Montana thread was created in 2018 but Louisiana was left out, because it borders Texas, which is a state we're getting next year and it has potential of being a 2023 state.

You probably should have let kraake make it so that its official. If they where ready for Louisiana, he would have made one. That is how we get an idea on what might be in the works. When we make it, it gives a tad more false hope that it comes within the next year or two.

OK and MT were made in 2018, that might have given people false hope (Those threads will have their 3 year old birthdays in November). And that was when those states did not share any borders with any that ATS had back in those days.

Yet we know both are coming up too after Texas. It takes a year or so to research. They stay 2-3 states ahead. That is how the asset team stays ahead. They create stuff for the mappers to design well ahead of the announcement. The asset team makes first, mappers create behind the scenes, we get map teaser then official announcement.
