How do you drive? In ATS that is.

Re: How am I driving
Voted law abiding, but there are moments, for example when i need to pick up a trailer in 5 minutes, but i need 7 minutes when i ignore road laws, but that doesn't happen very often.

Re: How am I driving
Definitely "law abiding" for me. I try to simulate being a professional truck driver, so I try my best to do everything by the book. I made a mod that lowers the speed limit to 63 MPH, so that's the fastest I can physically drive. I stop at all red lights (even coming a complete stop before turning right on red), signal every lane change, come to a complete stop at all the stop signs, etc. I also avoid honking at the traffic, even if they do something stupid in front of me, as that's what a professional truck driver would be expected to do.
Re: How am I driving
When I worked for Disney, that was referred to as a "Disney Stop". Anyone who has ridden their buses probably noticed the rather protracted stops at intersections and the like.[*]...even coming a complete stop before turning right on red
...come to a complete stop at all the stop signs
Annoying when trying to get somewhere in a hurry. I have no such issue here
Re: How am I driving
The only thing that I might not do completely correctly is merging onto an interstate, as I use whatever space available to keep going if merging isn't possible thanks to the AI. But in my opinion, you should never come to a full stop before entering a highway.

Re: How am I driving
I drive in ATS like I drive in reality: following the road laws that truly matter, and most of the rest.
For example, I usually signal lane changes, but not always (depends on nearby traffic, honestly), if there isn't any traffic (and I can see all approaches for at least half a mile), I might not stop at a stop sign, and I go 65 if at all possible (such as on those awkward areas where the speed limit is 50 or 55 because the shoulder is an entire 2 inches narrower... Iowa) etc.
For the most part, though, law-abiding. I never turn right on red with a trailer unless I'm in Kansas at night (Kansas doesn't have any sensor-based traffic lights, and sitting at an empty intersection for 5 minutes is unacceptable), but I might run the left turn arrow when the main lanes have green and there is no oncoming (because SCS hasn't figured out what a flashing yellow arrow is, and neither has Des Moines).
As for the horn...
I like that thing. My dog doesn't, though.
A professional driver is expected not to honk at someone when they do something stupid (which, in traffic, means dangerous)? I disagree. If someone is doing something stupid: cutting me or others off, rushing to the front in the left lane before it ends at a construction zone, or cruising along with their phone in their hand, I will lay on that horn. I'd rather scare them into the ditch than them kill someone by being reckless.
