Get what you can afford. But I'd recommend Thrustmaster over Logitech if money is no concern. I upgraded from a G27 about 3-4 years ago to T300. I'd never go back to Logitech unless I had to. Belt vs helical gears makes a huge difference. Thrustmaster hardware is a lot more robust as well. I had to replace a G27 once due to wear and tear after 1.5 years. Never had an issue with Thrustmaster.

The noise and vibration isn't smooth at all though. If you play at night in a room with another, your companion could be in for a rude awkening.

I'm very happy with my G29 as an upgrade from a xbox controller. With the latest ETS2 / ATS updates (from last week) the default force feedback settings work great for me. The FFB changes introduced in the initial ETS2 1.42 release were not good but that was luckily addressed (for me at least) in the newest updates.

I also bought a Logitech G29 about two weeks ago, it's a gift of my choice for Christmas, I've been playing ETS2 and ATS for many years and the rest of my keyboard and arrow games, I hope I don't regret the steering wheel selection, it's still wrapped in a box, he saw I only have it in the pictures

The entry level Fanatec wheels are on par with the T300RS and G923 price wise (assuming @PBandJ's numbers are correct). I've had a GT 3 RS for approx. 8 years and now I use a CSL Elite, and they've always served me well. (I upgraded because I wanted, the old wheel still works fine). And the new DD would even give you a realistic steering ratio and degrees of rotation, AFAIK.

Its all about what you can afford but i started with G25 and upgraded to a Thrustmaster TMX with a Thrustmaster shifter with a ALMAR SKRS gearshift knob. 100% i would get Thrustmaster over Logitech especially the shifter.

I got a g29 and I'm happy with it. Had it for a few years and it still works great. From comments I've read in the past it seems Thrustmaster is a more higher end product, but I don't know how much better it performs in comparison as I've never tried it. If budget is a concern, you may want to go with a g29/g920 wheel.

I have a Thrustmaster TMX Pro. It's a great wheel, but even more, I HIGHLY recommend the TH8A shifter. It's got a great feel/weight to it. I got the TMX Pro because it came with a 3-pedal set vs just the accelerator/brake. I also picked up a shifter from AplusB. Not as fancy as many of the shifters out there, but it works well, and I didn't have to wait months to get it.

I've got Thrustmaster TMX Pro and TH8A also. I chose Thrustmaster because it can be use with Xbox (yes Logitech have Xbox version too, but ATM in shop were only TMX Pro) and I wanted 3 pedals. IMO wheel is very good and still works great after over 1200 hours of trucking. Here in Finland G29 cost same as TMX Pro, but Logitech shifter is way cheaper than TH8A so with shifter Thrustmaster is expensive.

Never driven with Logitech so cannot say anything about them, but I can recommend Thrustmaster.

Go with Thrustmaster. Less problems and better feeling force feedback in my opinion.
ihave the G29, its been a reliable product, ust the new FFB doesnt integrate well, its hard to find a comfortable setup but the wheel itself is good

Is the Logitech G29 compatible with Linux? I asked it in another discussion here on the forum but no one is writing me off, I found a user on the internet who says that the steering wheel is compatible with Linux, but I want to be 100% sure, the discussion in which the players discuss it she was on Reddit and 4 years ago
