I can tell you that this summer, in July or in August with the departure of the convoy mode. I was playing in ETS2 with a random player and talking to him he told me that he was using a g29 steering wheel and that his operating system is linux (I seem to remember that Ubuntu told me). I also remember that he told me that he was very happy with his g29, but I don't remember anything else.
I use a g29, but with Windows. I'm sorry I can't be of more help to you.

@Ceco i use Logitech G29 wheel with Linux (native and Proton) without any issues. It even doesn't need extra driver like new-lg4ff since force feedback update in game version 1.42.

I use the new-lg4ff driver since it enables all effects that the wheel is capable of, but I figured since the update it'd probably work fine without it.

I have a g29 and it’s been good. Only problem I’ve had is the potentiometers acting up but after cleaning them thoroughly it’s been ok. I like the new FFB settings feels more realistic to me. I use default settings.

Today I unpacked the steering wheel Logitech G29 which was packed in boxes for more than a month, unfortunately something I did not expect happened, the locking screws are short, they are missing about 1-2cm to secure the game steering wheel to the table, or I have a rough game board 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️     I am very angry, I really didn't expect such a problem

@Ceco How thick is your table top? Mine is just over an 1 1/4 inches (3.175 cm) thick and it has no problem opening up to that size.

you would need to have a desk that is thicker then 50mm and this is, to my knowledge, not the case for a bog standard table, even from Ikea the ones are max. 35 to 40mm thick, the G29/920 can be clamped to a desk up to 50mm, if it is thinner then the clamps can clamp there are reducing pieces inside it

@PBandJ 4cm, but I have already solved it, I removed those clamps as mentioned by @xXCARL1992Xx
(also square plastic cubes) which were at the end of the clamping screws, and the steering wheel was mounted without any problems
