Re: Mods
You can find mods here:
viewforum.php?f=183
and on the Steam Workshop.
There are a lot of dodgy mod sites around, I advise you to stay away from them, not only do they often host stolen mods, you need add blockers and stuff.
Steam workshop mods are easy, just find one you like that works in your version of the game and subscribe to it.
Mods from here or other sources than the Steam workshop require you to place them in the mod folder for ATS, on a default win10 install that's:
C:\Users\YOURNAMEHERE\Documents\American Truck Simulator\mod
If the folder is not there you can add it.
Using the mods in game is the same for all, you have to select them when you're in the profile menu for the/each profile you want to use them in.
It's safest to start a new profile and make sure the mods work before you put them in your main profile, also mods can cause trouble when the game updates.
There can be a lot more to it, different mods have different needs, load orders, file types, etc, etc,....
Generally speaking, if mods are .scs or .zip they can be put in the mod folder as is, if they are .rar, .001, etc.. they need to be extracted first.
General rule of thumb, whichever mod replaces something in the game, or in another mod goes in top of the mod manager..

Re: Mods
the Mod I am trying to use is the one that changes the location of the route advisor
well I got it here in the forums there are 201 files in that zip and what I am wondering is do I have
to make all of these active or just the ones that look like they will work for the new location I wish to move it to.

Re: Mods
I don't know that specific mod, but if it's the one from "wik412" it looks like you need to extract that first and then pick one of the Route Advisor .scs files you like indeed.
You can only activate one at a time though.
the "Icons_for_ETS2.scs" file in it is probably optional.
Alternatively there's one from Sisl in the workshop based on the same one from Hemil: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/ ... =670285851
Less options and also less hassle
idk if that works in 1.40 though, doesn't say in the description, but in the comments someone says it did in the beta for 1.40

Re: Mods
Make sure the mods are all updated to the version of the game you are playing, or your game will crash and spit and sputter..... Only use mod that are on this website and over at Steam. If you get mods from a pirate site then good luck at making it work....

Re: Mods
When you start the game, select your profile you want to add a mod to (if you have more than one profiles), on the right are 3 icons, mod manager, World Of Trucks, and cloud save, click on the left one of the 3 (mod manager) it looks like a mirrored L with 2 squares inside it.
Assuming you only have one mod, Sisl's, double click on that, it should now appear in the column on the right and click on "confirm changes" at the bottom.
You can also select the mod by clicking on it once and use the top arrow to add it to your profile, the arrow under that removes it from the profile, the double arrows add or remove every mod to/from the profile
Now you're going back to the profile select page and you can resume as usual.

Quote removed - Don't quote the post above - Rule 2.12
Thanks so much for the time I have got it figured out now with your help.
so when you subscribe it downloads them to your game. does this work the same for all games?
thanks again

Re: Mods
Yes it works this way with all games. And each game that allows mods should have some version of a mod manager to enable you to configure which ones are active.
