Thanks for the replys.
So the sim definitely won't run without steam?
just that I was told the same about ETS2 but that proved to be incorrect.

The guys I bought my latest computer from told me that "Windows 10 takes Micro$oft that much closer to their goal of a 100% touch screen tablet computing world." And according to This article, you can't even play Solitaire in peace anymore, without paying for it to be ad free. I wouldn't know, because the guys in the store talked me out of using Windows 10. They said I would not like it, and they were probably right.

Nope. It's definitely Steam Only.

Well, I'm not into steam, so looks like I'll have to stick to ETS2.

I bought a retail boxed version with the DVD. It installed fine and connected with Steam just fine too. Also did the updates too.

What I can't find is a pdf on game-play. Is there one out there to download?

Rocky, most all games and sims are tied to Steam these days. I don't like Steam either but I have it so I can play the games I want and can't get as standalone. Steam isn't that bad really.. it's not invasive and will not harm your computer. ;)

There are laptops that still have DVD players available, as I bought one back in 2015. I could use it to install stuff just fine, but needed to buy the DVD player app to get it to run DVD movies.
