Tri Axel+Sweet Fx [NOOB]

Is there a way to take a mod I downloaded and somehow make the chassis a 8x6, I don't wanna mess with the whole lift axel, I just wanted to know if theres a way to edit a file to make it like that for a truck I downloaded(personal use). Also any suggestions + short tut on sweetfx for nasa level computers? I would love the help
