Good Place for Optimization Help?

#1 Post by Katfish » 18 Jul 2017 23:39

Hey all,

After watching a few vids from Squirrel and seeing this game on steam sale for 50% off, I decided to pick it up.
The performance is incredibly disappointing and I'm ready to request a refund. In no shape or form does the game I'm playing resemble the one on his channel. (he is not running mods at the beginning of the series so just to be clear.)

I have a good computer. I have a 1080 ti graphics card. I have 16 gigs of RAM. My processor is definitely next on the upgrade list as its an AMD fx-8350, Eight-Core 4 GHz. Its not bad, not top of the line. Windows 10. This should be more than enough to handle this game and get a decent frame rate.

As it is, I get an FPS in the 20's if I move my head around with track IR. On MEDIUM settings.... I've played with all the settings and I can't even stay above 60 with everything on low unless I drop the screen size below 100.

I've searched the internet and tried some of the tips I've found but nothing has helped much. I honestly have no idea what I could possibly do to get the fidelity and frame rate present in the youtube videos I've mentioned, but I would be happy enough with a decently steady FPS on decent graphics, and I'm not even close to that at the moment.

Tips or tip on where to go to get tips?

Cheers,
Katfish

I hope that SCS won't be offended by my saying this, but until they figure out why this seems to only happen in 1.27 (and I know they will), try 1.26... With all graphics settings as high as they go except Scaling, which is set to 200%, I get 50's and 60's with 1.26, but in the 20's and 30's with 1.27. Something is causing the FPS to drop in 1.27.

Axel Slingerland I didn't wnana make a new topic but rather ask you a question, I can run the game on max settings, but in some trucks it still looks awful in the sense that I am running a titan x with a I7 and a g97 at over 120fps on maxed out everything but I am still having ugly resolution in the sense of gauges making me feel like my driver needs glasses or I need to tweak something, I have not messed with scaling, maybe that's the problem? Also I am running at 21:9 so 2560 x 1080 at 155hz. any help or mods you suggest?

If you put the scaling up to 200% you'll see a difference. I run 400%

Thanks frontiersman, question, How would I take good HQ screenshots? any programs or plugins or just use the steam screenshot app? because when I take them they seem low quality.

There's the camera mode, top right corner of the main menu. Lot's of nice options.

If I'm using steam, how would I roll back to an earlier version of the game? I'm not sure I've tried to do that before.
Thanks for the tip, Ax. I'll try that when i figure it out.

Really? Mine saves at the resolution I run it, 1920x1080 (for now, going 2560x1080 on the new monitor tomorrow).
What are you running at?

2560x1080 16:9 144 hz so its silky smooth but the pics look ehhhhhh, any enbs or photo realistic mods that would be good on a higher end machine that arent just "SHINY SHINY SHINY"?
