Headlights issue in 1.40

Really pleased with some aspects of the new lighting in 1.40, except for one thing. Headlights do not light up anything to the sides anymore on most trucks. This makes seeing what you are turning into at night impossible. On real vehicles there is some light from the headlights fanned out to the side so you can see when turning. BTW, no mods, turned mine all off to test it.

It is recommended that you check with a new profile that has never had any mods on it.
Reason being: just because a mod or mods have been removed from a profile.. it does not mean that the old profile will not be affected with remnants from the mods that were removed.

Crazysonoran has given an exact description of the low beam behaviour on a vanilla profile
You can see nothing when you turn, left turns are the worse imo, you can't even see the road when getting close unless you have additional high beam rack mounted

This signature virus has been spliced with the Fundementalism-B virus to create a new more contagious strain. Please look for it infecting a signature near you.

Sorry, that is not a vanilla profile. :)
A profile that has never had any mods on it, is vanilla.

I do not know why, but I don't seem to be affected in this way.
Sure the surroundings are darker and the light not so bright.. but to say it's impossible to see with lights on at night and there is no beam pointed
towards the side of the road in corners. I'm just not seeing that.

Is it because I don't use an HDR monitor or TV but run with 27" triples, I honestly don't know and it's just baffling.

idk, maybe the beam direction needs slightly adjusted.. but it shouldn't dazzle oncoming traffic.

I think I need to try running ATS on my 65" 4k HDR TV to get an idea of what is happening.
'cos like I said earlier, I'm not suffering from this using my asus 27" triples.

Hello everyone!
SCS Software has made a great job with new lighting system, but!!!, the player trucks' headlihts are quite awful and pale now in 1.40.
The trucks became just blind at night, especially on highway without street lighting. When you drive in such conditions it feels rather uncomfortable. High beam is now useless.
Does anybody know if there is a method to increase the headlight brightness and "intensity", and also the distance of the low beam (maybe via config file or something like this)?

Headlights work quite well for me. Same brightness as my parents vehicles

thank you! The mod on the second link makes situation better for me.

UPD: I drive Freightliner Cascadia by SCS and I've noticed that fog lights on the front bumper don't switch on anyway - does anyone know if it is by design, are these fog lights fake, is there a way to make it work?
