Green icons missing (after mod)

I installed a mod that replaces all the green icons with realistic 'X' markers on the ground. Since the mod was updated I have lost all of my icons, even when I remove the mod. Is there any way to troubleshoot this issue to bring them back without having to create a new profile? I have no other conflicting mods installed.

@xDope Go into your documents/ATS/profiles and in the profile you are using open it and open config.cfg with notepad++ and look for this line:

uset g_show_game_elements "1"

If it has a 0 in between the "" change it to 1 and save it. Restart your game and see if elements are back. I think you can do the same thing within the console if you have that setup but not sure on this command.

@PBandJ Yup that was the issue! Thank you! Not sure what exactly triggered it to go to 0

This is a guess on my part, but when you started using the mod that changed the icons to X markers it probably changed that setting so it could use it own. Then when you removed that mod there was nothing in the mod to change the setting back to 1. Glad that worked for you....

hey, i got the same problem. but in my config file i cannot find >>uset g_show_game_elements "1"<<
i put the command line in but it dont save it. when i type in the ingame console it works.

no mods running

@ex0r Are you looking at the config.cfg that is in your documents/ATS/profiles folder or the one in your documents/ATS folder? Should be looking at the first one listed.

nope. nothing in there. i can put the command in but i would not keep it. i will try it again and make the config file read-only

If it's not there, you are looking in the wrong file.

yep, you have been right. i looked at C:\Users\theex0r\Documents\American Truck Simulator and not the game version profile. sorry!
