V-Sync Issues, Stuttering, 40-58 FPS
So I put this game down for a couple of weeks, and come back to some unstable FPS issues. I believe I've narrowed it down to V-Sync (through internal or Nvidia settings)
- With V-Sync on, my FPS is constantly wavering mostly between 55 and 59, which with my Tobii eye tracker, the stuttering is very noticeable.
- *This issue is everywhere, not just cities, interior and exterior camera.* Sitting there with the truck off just looking around, it stutters.
- With V-Sync off, limiting the FPS in Nvidia settings to 60, I get a consistent 60, but of course there's tearing. So not a great solution.
- I played with graphics settings, putting scaling down to 100% (lower than I ever have, usually I run 150-200), and FPS issue is the same. It really seems like a new little issue with V-Sync, not related to any graphics settings.
- I've currently solved it partially by having the V-Sync set to "Fast" in Nvidia, which acts like it's off, but somehow reduces tearing. Still not perfect, but bearable.
- I have some truck and sound mods, sisl trailers, the usual stuff (no graphics related mods), and I tried a fresh profile, the issue persists.
- I've updated Game Ready Driver and made sure my windows update is all current.
Anybody else notice this in the past week or so? Hate it when I come back after a break and it doesn't run right!
And to be clear, a couple weeks ago, I could have V-Sync on with no issues. Yes, drops in cities or if there's too much traffic, but at least then I can tell what's causing it, and I deal with it. This seems new.
My Specs:
i7-10700K
32 GB 3200 MHz DDR4
Nvidia GTX 1660 Super

What resolution are you running at? I have an i7-10700k 16GB 3600 MHZ and a GTX 970, I run at my monitors native resolution 3840x2160 60hz with v-sync off and I dont have those issues.

My game started the studders as well, just after the latest update, not sure why yet. I have run a profile with "no" mods and it is not as bad, but still there, mostly when I turn the truck in a city. I am running 3-24" moniters @ 60fps, (all 3 of them are 144hz), 5760x1080 with a gtx 1080, 32gb ram and i7 9700. All my storage is m.2 nvme.....if I find anything helpful I will post it.

Have you tried uninstalling this month's W10 update rollup? Heard it causes some performance issues if one has V-Sync enabled.

There seems to be an issue in the game - I do have exactly the same issue when sitting inside the truck switching on the lights. Switching them off is increasing the performance immediately again. As far as I have seen there is a lot discussion regarding this issue in the SCS forum here and also on Steam. The issue seems not to be a personal PC or hardware issue. I do have an I7 8700, 16GB RAM and GTX 1080 8GB. The issue started with 1.40 .....
@Kwasiarz I tried to play without the WIN10 update but there seems to be no improvement / difference.

I have the same issues. Some days it'll have REALLY bad stuttering, some days it will run smoother than Air Force One landings. It's annoying.

Right click on Steam (or your game if legacy) -> Properties -> compatibility -> disable fullscreen optimization.
Had this issue a few weeks ago, went away with this.
