when I made my lowliner trucks and put 295/60 tyres on it, I noticed the speed and the rpm was different

ofc the rpm is different, but the speed is the same, speed is speed, it doesnt matter if you reach 65mph with 315/70 tires or 295/60, the only change will be the RPM your truck has with said speed, the game doesnt have any electronics where wheel data is saved for tachograph purposes so it display actual speed of tires

wheel size affects speed of course, but all speed measurements are GPS-precise. so if the game shows you that you are driving 65 it just believes that.
who was host of convoy? any interesting settings? shared jobs?
Nobody can tell you anything about it. Those who know about it aren't allowed to talk. And those who talk know nothing.

Define "interesting settings".

Shared job. Tried me hosting or my buddy. Same results.

I'll make sure we're running the same wheel package.

Not sure what interesting settings are.

In game settings are all the same. Same truck engines and transmissions. Same options for the trucks (tires/chassis). My 65mph is actually 61mph when running with others. The only difference is I'm running a W900 and my buddy is running a 389. Engine/transmission are the same in each truck though. Even tried changing what I drive: MACK, Peterbilt, Western Star, Freightliner. Nope. Every single time the in game speed dashboard and GPS shows me going 65mph but according to everyone else in game I'm going 61mph.

There's no rhyme or reason that I can see at this point.

Wait, so does everyone else's speed match each other's, or is everyone running at slightly different speeds relative to each other?

Everyone else, 65mph is 65mph.

If they want to match my speed: for me it shows 65mph. Everyone else is 61mph. My truck is 4mph slower at WOT speeds.

If we're following in game speed limits everyone else set at 75mph, I have to go 80-81mph to keep up.

For some reason, my game speed is slower than everyone else I drive with. No one else in the group has this problem. And it's a very odd problem to have I suppose.

Is as like if your game would be considering the mile (unit size) to be shorter. As you drive more miles in the same amount of time that your buddies when moving at the same relative speed; so your tachograph records higher speed.

I don't know.

We all took the same job (shared convoy contract). By the end, I was a solid 70 miles behind them, despite all being on WOT contract limited to 65mph. Same cargo, same trucks, same weights. If they moved 65mph indicated on their rigs, I watched them slowly walk away from me despite my dashboard indicating I was moving at 65mph.
