Game crash DX11 error

#1 Post by JPD68 » 02 Dec 2021 09:12

Hi another game crash with this as the first error: *
00:05:17.803 : <ERROR> [dx11] error creating render target view
00:05:17.803 : <ERROR> [dx11] meta_copy: failed to create SRV (0x887a0005)*
Anyone got an idea what is wrong?

If your graphics card is overclocked from the factory you will need to dial back your clock speed. That SRV error is a common one with overclocked graphics cards.

If it's factory overclocked use software like MSI Afterburner to dial back the core/memory clock speed by a little each time, if you have overclocked it yourself reset the clock speed to default. ATS/ETS2 do not like overclocked graphics cards.

No idea if it's overclocked, his error is happening since this week. a couple of weeks ago I could play for hours without crash. Nut I'll tune it down a bit.

It was overclocked by the manufacturer, so tuned it down a bit, first try was succesfull, hopefully it stays this way.

some users already report frequent crashes on latest nvidia driver.
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/fo ... opicPage=8

consider rollback on previous version. or try to use opengl.

in case of advanced user can also try to DDU uninstal driver and do a clean installation. driver could be ok. just installation sometimes is not perfect when just updating.

Thx @Tom tuning back (100hz) worked. It happend nog with the driver released last week, but the one before. But part of the plan is to uninstall the driver and reinstall it. May even try it with DDU ;-)
