Does truck affect Hired Driver earnings?

This is probably asked periodically but search didn't turn up anything. I read that at some point SCS put in changes so that truck spec made a difference. Then the question is how? Does the game just scale up NPC's pay according to the overall customization value on a truck or only the power matters?

Thanks for the reply Max. Still, the game has to pass the parameters of the truck, with its particular configuration, through a formula to arrive at some kind of multiplier for the earning right? Can we assume that for example, if Truck Analysis shows a certain configuration as superior for hauling normal cargo over another configuration, then that truck when driven by NPC will make more money compared to the other truck?

It's extremely hard to test since we have no control over NPC jobs.
