Does raising the wheels on the truck have a functional affect?

See title.

The kind of affects I imagine it can/should have are:

With the wheels raised when you have no trailer or an empty trailer:
- slightly reduced fuel consumption (when realistic fuel consumption option is on), due to less friction
- slightly reduced "Wheels wear"
- slightly better acceleration due to less road friction.

With a loaded trailer:
- Improved vehicle grip
- reduced "Wheels wear" (due to not overloading the 4 wheels on the truck, by putting some of that load onto the extra 2 droppable wheels).

(I'm just guessing about those affects based on what makes sense to me)
