Re: Regional haulage question
I think there's no mileage limit as long as you stay in just one country, and don't enter another one

Re: Regional haulage question
I would say regional haulage is the one that keeps you around your home, where you can return very frequently (let's say at most being 1 night out of home when the trip to go somewhere takes you a whole day). Whether if you cross a border or if you don't, that doesn't really matter beyond the fact to have to had a truck compliant with the regulations of all the states one drives through.

Re: Regional haulage question
As above, regional haulage is generally within a specified area (or region) around a depot - generally day trips. Longer than local but shorter than long distance. One way to look at it is like this (generally) - Long Haul carries the goods between major distant hubs, regional then carries the goods to intermediate hubs and local carries the goods to the final destination.
Using in game locations, long distance hauls a full load from a hub in Los Angeles to Boise. That load is combined with loads from other destinations and sorted into regional trips - one takes a full load from Boise to Twin Falls. At Twin Falls, the load is divided into local trips for delivery.

"Load is combined with loads from other destinations"
IRL yes but will it be a cargo feature in game some time in the future? - mixed loads
