Weigh Stations

#1 Post by erdnay » 12 Feb 2021 23:11

Why is it that I have to stop at almost EVERY weigh station, when other trucks are allowed to pass?

There's a stock 60% chance to get pulled in on any weighstation.

I wish it was more realistic, sometimes I'm the only one being pulled in while 10 different trucks bypass and other times everyone gets pulled. [ external image ]

I cannot remember having more than one truck queued in front of me. There should be to or three at least. Also 60% chance should be reduced after first weigh station, then reset back to 60% after taking a new job or resting.

There was once said that there is a random selection but i cant see this.
Its always the same...
And it differs from which direction you come from.
Most times when you need to cross the road you get pulled out (weight stations that are in a city).
When you can easy drive into you got green light.
Boring...
Im ignoring all.

I made a mod that reduces that 60% to 20%. It also silences the associated beeps.

Actually, I’ve encountered the same issue and when I was looking through my save game file, I noticed that it keeps track of how many fines, collisions, tows, etc. You’ve had as well as how long you’ve gone without any of the aforementioned in both distance and time. After resetting these values, I was getting pulled in a lot less, and my coinsurance rate at the service centres was a lot lower. So the game technically has its own version of a “CSA” score (or whatever it’s called) and the better you drive, (no accidents, no fines, taking proper care of your truck and trailer) the less likely you are to get pulled in to a weigh station.

@James5121 There is a single line in a single file in def/world folder that changes the call-in frequency. Pretty easy.

Neat! Where does one find this information? Does it need an app?

Yayyyy, there's already a topic here on this matter.

So, I fudged up a bit on this navigation which meant that I had to get on the highway and make a U Turn. But in the process of making this. I got pulled into the one on the oncoming lane as I was a part of that on coming traffic. I get off the highway and onto the interchange so that I could go back the other way. And without fail, I get pulled off and into the other weight station ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE FREAKING FREEWAY Where I was weighed literally five in game minutes prior. I mean WTF Man. Can't they like, I don't know, give their data to the other weight station on the other side or something?
Always keep the Greasy/Rubber side down and the shiny side up. Even if what is supposed to be shiny isn't shiny anymore. But still it's always better to stay on top of the wheels none the less!
