18 WOS CB Radio Chatter

Is it possible to bring the 18 WOS Radio Chatter to ATS? Otherwise, tell me a CB Radio mod that has it. If not, well i guess i will have to make it on my own.

AlexyP made a Stabo XM4060E CB Radio mod with CB Chatter (and its on the forum on the ETS2 side, but it works in ATS). It'll need updating for 1.37 for FMOD.

You'll need to edit the defs so it can be used on ATS trucks, it isn't hard. Change \def\vehicle\truck\<ETS2 truck>\accessory\toyhang\, renaming whatever ETS2 truck name in that to an ATS truck, and in the toyhang folder, editing the defs there to change "accessory_addon_int_data : stabo.<ets2 truck name>.toyhang" to whatever truck you are using (such as "accessory_addon_int_data : stabo.volvo_vnl.toyhang")

The chatter would be cool like the old days where you spoke and the AI responded. Added to the immersion. As did the honking of the horn and the AI trucks responding

I loved that feature so much! Really hope SCS will officially bring it back some day.

Sadly, only ATS would be able to enjoy CB if it was ever released, it would be waay too much work to make it realistic in ETS2
Also, Germany will ban CB stations

I'd honestly be fine with it being exclusive to ATS. I'd be happy if we got the feature at all.

@8-BitTowCo Still it would be too much work because you've have to set up zone where the CBs would work and not, and you also need voice actors but i think SCS should handle it fine with the voice acting since they did voice acting for the navigation.

@TMM10 Hmm... if they were to revamp the system, then yes.
But they could just re-use the 18 WOS voice lines they've already got for ATS. And about it being region-specific... sure, it would add to the realism, but I think that it doesn't need to be.
I mean, I don't think it was region-specific in 18 WOS, and when I played it I've never even thought about it being region-specific.

They'd probably have to re-code the CB system (because the last game that used it is 13 years old now), but I don't think it would be that complicated.
I mean, if they've done it once they should be able to do it again.

I just think that the UI should be more adjusted to more suit ATS's UI, but I'd be fine if they re-used the original audio clips from 18 WOS.
Either way though, I'd really enjoy it if they brought it back.

This is what I miss about ATS, it was so good to ask in 18 WoS about the weather and traffic using PX/CB system.
