@EurocopterX3, we're not Company trucks in WOT. We're more like Independent truckers. And IRL they don't govern their trucks to 65. There out there to make money and don't need a governed engine to hold them back. I ran California from Northern NY for a 6 truck company, and my truck wasn't governed to 65mph. Try driving with a governed engine when you're told you have to leave Friday night from NY and be in downtown south LA Monday at 7am their time. I made it on 8 hours sleep. I would never happen these days time wise or with an electronic logbook. And I never did it again for them.

I've hauled ass down the road to deliver new cars and trucks, fuel, freight, and produce. Now I'm addicted to ATS doing the same thing in a simulation.

My truck is governed at 65 and I hate it. Between the limiter and the elog, you just say "it'll be there when I get there and if you want it sooner that just sucks." Whenever a shipper takes to long to load me and i run out of time my boss always says "do what you can do, they know that they screwed up so we are in the clear."

If i was an O/O there is no way that I would run a governed truck. I just don't want to deal with the hassle of trying to do all the paperwork myself.

If you owned the truck in real life it's very unlikely it would be governed for any longer than it takes to get to a shop.
If you're complaining about it being governed in the game, there's an option in the game settings.

I'm talking real life, I should have specified. I don't own the truck as I am a company driver.

Now if it was set at the maximum highway speed limit, that's different story. Last I ran WOT you could go thru a town with their speed limit of 25 or 30mph and do 65. Doesn't make sense to me.

IRL I've seen accidents where the truck speed limit was set 5 or 10mph below the car speed limit. That's during the daylight hours, and especially at night cars or pickup trucks would rear end the trailer from drivers not paying attention, and they usually died.
I agree with this the speed limiter is the issue for me I refuse to run those loads because of the speed limiter

Smoke dirt build up tire physics and cabin physics

#4076 Post by Moonrunner » 28 Sep 2021 23:36

We need smoke physics in the game I understand the new trucks don't smoke unless they are under heavy heavy load but I mean for the older trucks that modders make it would be nice also the game physics like mudflaps flapping cab air ride moving trucks getting dirty truck washes maybe some real fuel pedal physics where you can engine brake in neutral and you actually have to rev match your gears

Even under heavy load. A modern day truck won't smoke.

They shouldn't smoke, unless there's something wrong with the engine/exhaust system, or it's heat haze (or what it's called in English)
Or of course if it was a really old truck.
Or maybe they have an exhaust brake and they were messing with it like i used to do 20 years ago.
