Beverage Trailers

#1 Post by TwinShadow » 28 Jul 2017 03:32

There's one type of trailer I wish was actually in the game. I did a very minor search around, but this may have been suggested before and I'm honestly a little lazy right now to look for the topic.

Beverage trailers are used primarily by your big coke brands or sometimes beer companies too. Though not always the case, but I'll typically see these types of deliveries to stores in these type of trailers. What I'm talking about are these:

I haven't seen a double axle variant of it myself, but that just may be because of where I live. Here's a couple single axles:

Be pretty cool to see these in the game to take to places like Wal"Mart", gas stations, etc...

B4RT has a beverage trailer like that one, that someone updated to use the new company_paint_job system, that was converted from 18WoS. Since it was released on Facebook, I do not remember who it was that updated it, but I uploaded a copy on my Sharemods account. Its been set up to appear in traffic, but experience with updating B4RT's Wabash Trailer Mod to have 100 skins (a few made by me, the rest from a Wabash mod from over a year ago, and the most recent Wabash update by B4RT), trailers won't show up in traffic unless they use ATS's company names.

As nice mods are, I'm suggesting that this be put in the base game itself.

It would be nice, considering that there are deliveries to grocery stores and those corner stores.

The thing with those is you'd need to build new trucks for them. I can't say I have ever seen one of those types of trailers get pulled by any of the trucks that are presently available in the simulator.

I'm not particularly looking for a 1:1 representation, but something like these trailers.

Depends on where you are, here, I see them pulled often by daycab 6x4's on the highway, then switched to International 4x2's in the city. Though I guess it depends on the company, the trucks I see regularly are Pepsi co., and the odd beer trucks.

The only trucks I've ever seen pull them trailers generally aren't taller than the trailer, and I've seen them pretty much everywhere. Of course, I don't know where you are, either, so that doesn't tell me much, as I haven't gone west all that often.

Perhaps not perfect for representing the lighter duty trucks pulling this types of trailer, but nevertheless an interesting choice:

Sounds like one of the trucks might be something like this image: http://findtruckdrivingjobs.net/wp-cont ... -truck.jpg - Can't say I've seen them pulled with this one, but it has honestly been a few years since I've really had a good look at them. (I forgot what day one store I used to work out got deliveries from Pepsi, so couldn't take a photo if I wanted to)

If I had to guess, I believe this one here: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ ... _truck.jpg - was what I saw frequently. Just a simple 4x2 day cab truck, so that's more accurate anyway.

Lol, found a double trailer version of this while peering through Google images: http://www.hackneybeverage.com/wp-conte ... 0_2417.jpg
