Flatbed cargo DLC
Re: Flatbed cargo DLC
No wonder I had no clue. Wrong terminology. Supersobes corrected you though. If you look all thru this thread, I posted tons of step deck trailers along side standard flatbeds. Its one of the more popular trailers that is not in the game yet but I total agree we need it.
I'd much rather own a step deck than a standard flatbed trailer though. Very versatile trailer compared to the standard flatbed. I think agriculture and construction could really benefit from it.

We don’t know how many goods the scs software will add to Volvo Construction Equipment Transportation DLC, but I know that Volvo Construction Equipment’s large crawler excavators such as EC950EL, EC750DL; wheel loaders such as L350H, L260H, L220H; and A60H articulated automatic The dump truck and rigid dump truck R100E need special transportation to be transported on the road. As far as the special transportation routes in the current game are concerned, ETS2 includes Stavanger to Oslo, Dortmund to Hanover, Czech Republic Prague to Nuremberg, Germany, and Reims, France- Strasbourg, France, Linkoping to Kalmar, ATS from Phoenix to Sierra Vista, Oxnard to Bakersfield, San Francisco to Fresno, Farmington to Raton, Denver to Colorado Springs From Portland to Newport, these routes are very suitable for transferring large crawler excavators and excavator buckets, as well as wheel loaders, articulated dump trucks and rigid dump trucks through special transportation. Station, the task of transport to the port.
Hopefully in the future America Truck Simulator will add these trucks: Freightliner 122SD/Century/Columbia/FLD/Cascadia/Coronado, Kenworth T800/T880/W990,Volvo VNX740, International HX520/ ProStar, and MACK Pinnacle, MACK Titan.

Oof, that must have been one expensive repair bill!Trucker_71 wrote: ↑28 Aug 2021 11:34 @pete379jp The position of the cargo depends on it's weight, if it's one piece (bundle) or more. I once loaded a heavy load in the center of the trailer and not too far down the road, it cracked the frame. I had to find a welding shop that could fix the frame and reload my load. It was an expensive lesson.

Volvo construction equipment? Did I miss something? I dont see Volvo mentioned anywhere in the blog post, plus, it's not very likely SCS will opt to license so many vehicles that aren't drivable and are just cargo.

@dahaka Yes, you missed something.....almost a month ago. August 20th to be more exact. https://blog.scssoft.com/2021/08/constr ... sport.html

Re: Flatbed cargo DLC
Well, I saw the blog post, but CAT has very similar looking vehicles, and given the past and the fact that we haven't even gotten the Volvo trucks reworked in ETS2 I didn't think we could get a licensed DLC.
But it looks like it might be on the table.
I suggested a construction equipment DLC some months ago, where I suggested mockups of the Caterpillar machines. They have the widest variety of construction machinery, so that's why I suggested it. I also suggested some pretty heavy rock crashers and stuff, check it out if you want. Now I'm afraid if it's a licensed volvo DLC we wont get much heavy stuff. At least not 64 tons heavy like I suggested.

The EC950F crawler excavator at 95 tons could do the trick, but we will have to wait and see what we get

Overall width 4,5 meters.... That can't be carried without escort in any European country. The stuff I had suggested could be carried in most countries. Well, guess we will have to wait and see.

Yes special transport, too heavy anyway
Very few places you can move 64 tons of cargo and not having a special transport

Re: Flatbed cargo DLC
Yes, but there is a difference between special transports. As long as you are heavier than 40 tons (50 in the netherlands, highest in mainland Europe) you have to operate with a special permit. But up to 3 meters wide (3,5m in some countries) and 20 meters long and (I think) 5 meters high you don't need escort vehicles. Above that size you need escort vehicles. Weight is, as far as I know not a deciding factor when it comes to having escorts or not.
Now in the game what we should be hoping to get is special transport without escort. Because due to game limitations, escorted special transport is monotonous, repetitive and gets boring fast. It's why I suggested smaller cargoes, up to 3,5 meter wide and up to 20 meters long.
Now if in the future we can take 5000km trips with escort vehicles adapting to our speed and whatnot, then it's high time to add really huge cargoes. Until then IMHO they should focus on medium sized special transport.
