Renaming Cargo for Bulk Feed and Grain Hopper

How about using -wheat-, -barley-, -oat- f.e instead of just -grain- for the Grain Hopper/Bulk Feed?

Renaming Cargo for Bulk Feed and Grain Hopper

#1 Post by Holzauge » 11 Oct 2019 12:31

I really like the new trailers that came with 1.36 OB. Just to make it more colorful and bring some changes I suggest instead of just using "grain" as a cargo to use "wheat", "barley", "oat" and similar. (still "grain" ;)) Doesn't change a lot, just adds some variation.

This is something that has annoyed me since ATS launched. ATS has fruit but ETS has separate cargo of apples, oranges etc.

It's the one area that ATS really needs to match with ETS2 IMO.

I believe they will add more product type cargo like the ones you said Woodeye eventually. They need to up the weight in LCV's combo's though 37,000 pounds in a RMD configuration is way to light.

You're right, @Mohegan13 . I haven't considered that yet. Well, hopefully eventually these things are going to be implemented... ;)

@howey I hope I got you right, but isn't grain a more "lightweight" good (less weight per volume), so that you won't get more weight on the trailer, even if stuffed to the max?

After doing the math your right Woodeye. I initially thought I was too light but after looking at it again that is correct.

It is very possible to overload a hopper with grain. Especially DDG (meal)

Yes, but not with unground grain... ;) See, we got animal food pellets, a much heavier load...

Oh, by the way, I forgot to mention "rye" in my first post... That's probably a collateral damage of playing Farming Simulator from time to time (no rye there either)

At least ETS2 got the variety now. Let's hope for ATS to get the same treatment! ;)

^Would be nice but I'm not so optimistic for more hopper cargo til we get to Kansas, Nebraska and the other Great Plain states. I'm not to sure if Texas and Oklahoma will add to the mix. I sure hope so but we'll see.

They do need to up the weight by quite a bit. You can easily overload hopper bottoms or dump trailers with grain. Full load of corn, soybeans, wheat, milo etc should be 50-55k lbs + for a 40’ hopper bottom
