The creak is heard from the right, from the side of the turn. And you can also hear three wheelsets with small flat spots (frequent knocks with a rotational speed). This sound can also be used sometimes.

Another railway company to have in ATS is Canadian Pacific railway hopefully to start seeing this railway once SCS reaches state of North Dakota and other states featured on this map below.

ProMods does have the Canada train in the game. Look pretty cool. As far as CSX in Texas, that shouldn't happen. CSX doesn't kick in until the Mississippi River states.

The author of this mod forced me to post this at gunpoint so here you go:

https://atsmods.lt/improved-trains-v3-7-2-for-ats-1-40/

https://atsmods.lt/?s=Improved+Trains

I think you guys might be interested in these mods.

He also wishes you guys the best as he can't post here himself.

(And the forcing and gunpoint part was a joke ofcourse don't worry)

Thanks for the heads up @Psycho_Yuri. Do the trains spawn in and out of the scene correctly now? This is the main reason I stopped using it. It blinks out of the scene and breaks immersion for me. Perhaps due to length of trains. I'd like to see SCS finally get a hold to this and make it happen. If modders can do this, surely some tweaks can make them a part of the vanilla game. The AI trucks can now haul articulated trailers and that seemed like it would never happen but we get them now. Improved trains should be another AI part of the environment that gets improved.

This is pretty good. The engine sounds are there thanks to fmod. I love the container trailer branding added. That is something I talked about before. SCS should make companies for container trailers. Too many blank container trailers without mods. The companies we have in the game is a great start for some industries. I love the large equipment cargo added for this mod. Not everything can be trucked from East Coast to the West Coast. Again, use cargo that is already existing in the game. I understand some people don't want to wait for trains, but its a part of the road network. We can't turn off trains in real life nor can we control their length in real life. The push for immersion is always there. This is another bonus for the transportation industry and should be implemented in the vanilla game. Freight drives the North American continent and I just don't feel the correct emphasis is on it. If you start something, might as well polish it and bring the immersion. The small details is what matters and pulls people in.

I find that quite interesting. That route cuts right thru Eastern Texas. It connects Dallas, Houston, Corpus, Laredo and Brownville. With the Texas dlc coming, that could bring a new train skin to the game outside of BNSF and Union Pacific until others get involved.

Found this merger of KCS and CP very interesting. A true NAFTA system with open access to major interchange points, ports and industries around North America, and also a very strong competitor for CN in direct Canada-Midwest-Mexico Gulf services.

It's going to be interesting how affected KCS relationship with BNSF/UP in Mexico-US traffic will. I think in 2019 when they've announced several joint intermodal services with BNSF, but I can see changes coming for eastern bound traffic shifting to the new enterprise.

On a side note, I was very pleased to see the latest blog from SCS regarding about rail industry in Wyoming. Rail and Wyoming are deeply connected, since proposals for routing the Transcontinental Railroad.

Only expected a few new models for rolling stock/locomotives, especially when they put a picture of UP1943 in a GE locomotive while it's real counterpart is a SD70ACe but bringing Big Boy into game was a very nice addition. They could in future, at least, ad a GP at yards since they're one of the most common sights there.

We also need refrigerated boxcars for cargo that requires refrigeration, tank cars for both hazardous and non-hazardous materials as well as food-grade ones, not to mention CoFC or containers on flatcars when overhead height is too low to allow for double stack containers.
