Re: Should SCS raise the WoTR limit to 80mph ??
The arbitrary speed limit is absurd and it is the primary reason I only do the bare minimum in WoTR events and then never touch WoTR in ATS after that. Want to enforce a speed limit? Fix the unrealistic economy so that gas prices and average consumption actually starts to matter. That'll have people driving slower. Otherwise turn the bloody thing off and let me enjoy the game, instead of turning it into an ubearable slog.

What i think would be a good idea,is : changeable speed limiter speed,in the gameplay options.
That way,one can decide the speed of the limiter.Different options for different people can be a good thing, right?

What would be the point of that? The only reason to have a limiter is because it's required by law in Europe. Since the US does not enforce limiters, having it in ATS has no merit. I can set my cruise control to any speed above 20 mph. There's your limiter, if you want it.

Simple solution, don't do WoTr jobs unless in case of an event
You can go as fast as you like
Even on WoTr jobs and downhill you can squeeze close to 70 mph out of it

''US do not enforce limiter''.That's right, but that doesn't mean you can't have one.
People have different opinions on how it should be.
If you don't want a limiter,fine.If other people want a limiter,fine.

I literally wrote that on the previous page. I don't, but I find the few events that I do participate in a boring, painful slog. Isn't the point of WoTR to have as many people participate as possible? Why purposefully estrange some of us because of this utterly baffling mechanic?plykkegaard wrote: ↑13 Sep 2021 14:56 Simple solution, don't do WoTr jobs unless in case of an event

65 mph is not that bad

As am I, but in Europe that's the law - so it makes sense. You aren't overtaken by other trucks going faster. In the US you are, and it's infurating. Anyway, I've said my bit, nothing more to add here.
Re: Should SCS raise the WoTR limit to 80mph ??
The question here is precisely the law. Why in ETS2 the WoTr speed limit follows the European law and blocks the speed up to 90kmh and in ATS the WoTr speed limit is based on what companies allow?
I see two solutions that would fit well for ATS:
-Create a limitation based on average of all states. (70 or 75)
-Create a system where in every state you enter, the game automatically limits you at the highest speed limit that by law is allowed in it.
TruckersMP can limit you to 30mph if I'm not mistaken when you enter a city zone, why couldn't SCS create that same system based on the maximum speeds of each state?
If we are going to base it on companies, how about lowering the ETS2 speed to 80kmh? Because that is the speed that the overwhelming majority apply in their trucks, take a look anywhere in Europe on google maps that on the back of every trailer will have that limit.

@Reis_6 it's a good idea. But,if going for realism, the idea of choosable speed limit in gameplay options would be the better thing,in my opinion.
