Should SCS raise the WoTR limit to 80mph ??
Should SCS raise the WoTR limit to 80mph ??
With Texas coming to the game in the future, it's about time we have this topic here to give our two cents about this subject.
As you all know, some states we currently have in-game allow more than 65mph on the major part of their highways and we're getting to the point where it's becoming a nuisance for the players that like doing WoTR contracts... And once Texas is released, we'll be stuck at 65 while cruising through mostly straight roads with higher speed limit.
So, are you in favor of SCS raising the limit or not ? I am and i seriously hope that this thread makes enough noise to get SCS's attention.

Re: Should SCS raise the WoTR limit to 80mph ??
Even after many thousands of hours, I've honestly never really understood why there are two different ways of hauling the same things in the same trailers to the same locations with different mechanics. One gets properly logged, the other exists only in your mind. One requires you to select it again, the other is available directly upon arrival. So much of it makes absolutely no sense.
Having said that, I very much prefer the real time aspect of WoT jobs and to be honest, it's a significantly more relaxing experience going 65 than 70+. The AI traffic feels more in sync, it completely eliminates the otherwise constant brake checking and for some reason there are way fewer backed up on-ramps.

Aren't trucks in the game physically restricted from accelerating past 65 mph, though? Unless you disable the speed limiter in the options, which is kind of cheating in my books.
This annoys me so much. For me this is a bigger reason to avoid California than the fact that much of its scenery outdated

I would like to see it bumped to 70 or 75. The truck limits in a lot of the states we currently can drive in is higher than 65. When AI trucks are passing me in Utah on I-80 like I'm almost standing still... the limiter is set too low for us. LOL

Consider yourself lucky
In Europe / ETS2 trucks are restricted to 56 mph (90 kph)

Re: Should SCS raise the WoTR limit to 80mph ??
What? There is a speed limiter checkbox in the gameplay options which prevents the player from speeding over 65 mph. It is enabled by default and has nothing to do with WoT.
Re: Should SCS raise the WoTR limit to 80mph ??
^But that speed limiter from the in-game options is not accurate... It would make sense if NA trucks came with a 65mph limiter from the factory but that's not the case, so i don't think turning it down it's "cheating", the same way i think that disabling the Simulate Fatigue isn't cheating as well.
@plykkegaard Trucks in Europe comes with a built-in limiter of 90kph from the factory, so having that limit on WoTR is not a big deal since it reflects real life situation. But in ATS, where a lot of places allow more than 65mph, why should i be stuck at lower speeds when i could be going faster ? Hence why i made this thread... So that SCS can see what we want and therefore raise the limit.
