Using your own trailer

#1 Post by Woody_033 » 17 Sep 2021 01:49

When you do special cargo jobs, when they are loading the "Special Cargo" you rest and fuel up...
When you use your trailer, you have to wait, but you don't rest and fuel up, you have to do this before the Job.

When using your trailer, and you are waiting to be loaded, we should be fresh and fueled once done like with the DLC!
Have a Nice Day!

That doesn't make sense for fueling, unless your trailer gets loaded right next to a fuel pump, which does not happen irl.
Even if a company has facilities for fueling that external drivers can use you should still have to drive to it imho, like at your large garage.

As far as resting goes, maybe a little bit, but certainly not back to 100% rested, but for that the resting system should be like real life imho, where drivers actually use that time as resting period on their tacho's.

And basically this means that if a player mainly does shorter hauls they never have to rest or stop for fuel which takes away some of the simulation part of the game and tbh there's already not much simulation in the game.

The fuel and resting feature is already available with "Special Transport". All I am suggesting is that it be also available to owned trailers.
SO I'm not suggesting anything new, just consistency with what is already in the game.

As I'm finding out, there is 1001+1 ways to play this game. They have given us the liberty to make your own choices as to how real we want to make it for ourselves. Even RL is subjective.

By the same consistency reasoning you could argue that they remove the feature from special transport jobs, i mean, a driver should come prepared for jobs like that and has to assume they can't just fuel up half way, i never understood why they did that anyways, except maybe for first timers that forget to fuel up, but that's a lesson learnt quickly :-)

Real life isn't subjective when things can be proven with facts, the number of trucks that refuel when being loaded is less than 0.00000001%, taking into account that the odd trucker may have spare fuel and fills the tank up while waiting if needed (though i can't prove that we all know it just doesn't happen), it's not some, or a few, or many (which are all subjective).

I agree that there are many ways to play this game, SCS has already left a ton of realism out of it, and i'm not a preacher for more realism, the game is fine for me the way it is, but even less realism would make it boring to me.

What's next, removing traffic lights because some people are too lazy to brake?

this is nonsense, the DLC is made that way because most Special Transports are always prepared like this, the truck is fueled up and the driver can drive his/her full hours so they can do the transport without interruption because the driver has the full driving time available

you with a normal trailer while unloading set the tacho to rest or pause, most of the time driver use this time to make the mandatory rest if they dont unload the trailer themselves and the time demands they have to rest now but it doesnt mean you can driver longer just because you didnt drive for 1hr, you still can only drive 9hr and not 10 (if your daily work time doesnt get in the way because 12hr is max. i think and i dont mean driving but overall work time)

same goes for refueling, where the hell should the Diesel come from ? not every stop you make has a diesel pump for trucks

Sure... Gravity does not change but how you experience it does... unless you are stuck between a rock and hard place, but that is a different story I suppose

Sure

Yes, the refueling is questionable.
Also, the DLC makes you wait, but you are only picking up a trailer, not showing up with your own, so :|

this doesnt meant it is finished loading, heavy transport NEVER just has the truck come, hook up and start driving, there is always preparations from truck arriving until it starts driving and this is what the DLC shows

but it doesnt change the fact that the idea is still nonsense for normal haulage because this is way more unrealistic then what the DLC does

Seems to me that you just don't want to listen to good reasoning.
