Not that people behind you would be able to hear you very well, but I’ve seen YouTubers like Ron Pratt use their pull cords to let off three quick air horn blasts to warn people that he’s reversing direction.

I am a witness to this because I have seen several of his videos, the air horn is an important means of communication for a truck driver, it serves to warn, greet, thank, notify, etc. Hopefully the accessory will be incorporated in trucks that still do not have it. 8-)

By the way, the Air brake system gives the compressed air for the horn. (I thought it was a stand-alone system  )

there is no "air brake system" in a sense of it is independent from the rest, everything on a truck is done via Electropneumatics/Pneumatics and they have only 1 pneumatic system for everything (truck and trailer)

that does not sound like a good idea, because if you either accidentally or intentionally run your air pressure too low, your air horn is basically useless

As Carl says, if that system suffers any anomaly, everything will be almost useless. I don't know if in the older models it also worked in the same way, and at this point we could be helped by the testimony of a veteran of the roads or a contemporary truck driver who has experience with old trucks.

I wonder why SCS didn't add airhorn pull rope to Lonestar® which shares the same interior modeling as LT®, and the newly added 9900i.

Is this also related to the manufacturer license?

that's right, maybe it was a detail they overlooked, with the LT they realized it days after launch, hopefully someone from the development team will notice this with both trucks or add the rope with a new node in the cab accessory pack.
