Out of Production Truck Wishlist
Re: Out of Production Truck Wishlist
The 372 looks like the bloated corpse of a 362, but it would still be cool to have. Freightliner Argosy is also a must for the game when it comes to older trucks.
And this is the Century Class i want to see in-game, the facelift version just doesn't look right to me.

Isn’t 1995/6 the year when the truck debuted? Then how it would be the second gen?flight50 wrote: ↑26 Nov 2021 00:15 When I Google searched earlier, it stated the 2nd gen was introduced in 1996. It seems it what started it all. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volvo_VN. 2004 is the third generation and I figured that is what we have now. But now we are in need of the new VNL.

^I have no idea. But that's why posted the link for you all to read yourselves. Wiki isn't always accurate but it's the go by.

Re: Out of Production Truck Wishlist
Is says second generation class 8 truck from Volvo. But it was the first generation of the VNL and the VN series. The class 8 truck that came before that was the Volvo WIA, which predates the VN series.flight50 wrote: ↑26 Nov 2021 00:15 When I Google searched earlier, it stated the 2nd gen was introduced in 1996. Speaking of the WIA, in the early years, it was also one of the models that Volvo made in collaboration with White Motor Company and General Motors. So to add to the list of suggested trucks:

There is an important mark missing in my eyes, and one that I would like to see come into the game for all the gold in the world lol.

The Autocar brand is, in my opinion, a brand that has undoubtedly marked the trucking industry.
This brand is sorely missing in the game, even in Mods you can't find any trucks, it breaks my heart.

I might be wrong on this, but I thought Autocar mainly built specialized trucks for all kinds of heavy duty applications?
Since we mostly get highway trucks from SCS, I wouldn’t really expect Autocar from them, but maybe there is a more conventional model by Autocar?
On another note, I think the Peterbilt 351 might be another icon we are missing in this thread.

Autocar might still work actually if you know how to tweak files. The mod is here viewtopic.php?p=1595375#p1595375. The issue with North American trucks that are no longer in production is that there is a butt load. I seriously think SCS could cash in on the crop dozens of models. ATS has one dedicated truck team and one shared team. If SCS could get one more team for out of production trucks, whether in house or outsourced, that could be beneficial to both fans and SCS. One out of production truck a year would be great. Then 1-2 in production a year until they are caught up. There are 2 types of drivers in ATS though. Aero/Modern and Classic. The crowd seems to be split though. I love the look of the aero and modern but when it comes to driving it, I want those classics. I feel more connected to my truck with old school. There are various age groups that play ATS and people tend to want what they grew up with.
Imo, SCS won't be able to get 100% accuracy with the possible lack of references if we did get old school. There would have to be a little wiggle room. But if modders like overfloater, harven and XBS can pull off some of the great out of production trucks, I bet if SCS had to go back and do that again, their trucks would be much better than the trucks that debuted for 2016. People might complain about the interior accuracy but if that's the case, don't buy it if you are not satisfied with it. SCS would need to market paid trucks a bit different. Perhaps allow a demo download. Try before you buy. If you play out your time, either buy it or loose it. But if you buy it, you accept it faults and all.....its then yours so don't complain. Constructive criticism is good to get fixes but trashing the truck after you tried it and bought it is on you. No point in childish bashing beyond your purchase imo.

Re: Out of Production Truck Wishlist
^Exactly how I imagined it with the testing. How about you get a lets say for example a K100 in the game and its a DLC truck, there could be a dealership option to test the truck, you would get a top trim truck, and maybe a short load lets say 50-60 miles to test drive, only can be done once, if you like it purchase it if not leave it.
