Volvo VNL670 vs VT880

Can somebody explain what are the differences between the VT880 and the VNL670? From a design view, i prefer the VT880.

But what are the technical differences between them?

VT was only available with D16 engine. Hence the bigger grill. It was suppose to be the biggest and best the Volvo had to offer, but it was too heavy, and the first D16 had issues because the just botched together something from european D16C and it didn't really work. Volvo did fix the issues but it was too late.

Thanks for the info! So the VT was available only with Volvo's D16, unlike the VNL that also had CAT and Cummins?

Nop. ISX was also available, but the primary engine they pushed was D16. Too bad there isn't a good VT mod out there. The one that is, the mesh is a mess.

I might start working on a VT880 mod if I find people to help me and if Volvo Trucks USA give me some technical drawings as reference.

If I understand correctly, the truck is very similar to VNL apart from tanks/sideskirts and the hood. But it is hard to find stuff on 10+ year old truck.

Hope dies last! I actually found the original technical drawings of the DAF 85CF (which is a 90's truck) at an enormous resolution thanks to forum member Bubagum. If it's the same case, then Volvo should have their drawings as well.

Hi @Andrei_JZX100 do you have by any change a working mod of the VT 880?? It's still my favorit Volvo but unfortunately the mod I have doesn't have a working engine sound on ATS 1.39. Seems no one can help with it ha ha.

@DutchBandit Unfortunately, I only know of the VNL truck shop mod, and it hasn't been updated for the latest patch so far. I don't know of another mod

There is a pretty good 3D model of the VT on Hum3d (I have it) but it needs a conversion for the game.

@xbs has a VT mod. Maybe he is going to release it in the future?
