Live Radio Not Working

#1 Post by mgomez » 07 Mar 2016 14:37

Hey there! Just tried putting in a copy of the ETS2 livestream file into my .local/share/American Truck Simulator folder and the streams are not appearing in-game. Is anyone else having this problem with the game on Linux? On Windows the stream file works just fine and dandy.

known issue since ETS2.
only ogg files work.

so better have a external music player for your tracks and change tracks via keyboard/mouse shortcuts until the support is added

Is this a licensing issue? If so, maybe it would be possible to check whether the user has the needed libraries installed and use those?

Streaming radio on linux

#4 Post by Snarfster » 18 Mar 2016 13:14

Hello all,

It is my understanding that the linux version is missing streaming radio due to codec licensing issues.

Is it possible to just use whatever codec is already installed on the system?

(I know, I could just open a browser and stream like that, however that really takes away from the immersion factor).

Any outlook on a solution for this issue?

It's a very annoying issue. I think that the Linux users bought the game in the same way that the Windows users.

I think SCS should take this issue more seriously
