Hi Folks,
Kicking off this thread so that we can communicate with the SCS developers regarding 1.39 issues pertaining to Mac users. From personal experience, the last time ATS was unplayable for me on a consistent basis was during the implementation of DX11 with 1.36. The SCS team was able to work out a few technical problems regarding compatibility that eventually allowed Mac users to play the game. I'm hoping that 1.39 game improvements are able to be implemented so that we can play the game in a successful manner again. @Max is it you that I should be adding to this thread?
I'll work on capturing an error log on my end.
In the meantime, here are my computer specs:
macOS Catalina
vs. 10.15.7
Processor: 3.6GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
Memory: 8GB 2400 MHz DDR4
Graphics: Radeon Pro 560 4 GB

Re: 1.39 Issues with Mac Operating System
SCS should transition the macOS version to Vulkan using this: https://moltengl.com/moltenvk/ which is already being used by other Steam game developers.
Re: 1.39 Issues with Mac Operating System
To me, this seems like an issue that is (hopefully!) easy to fix, though it may well be difficult to find. So I'm optimistic SCS will squash this one eventually!
But as it is now, I guess I'll have to stick to 1.38 and hold off on buying Colorado.

To drive in ATS without navigation, it's helpful to use a physical map (for highways) and driving directions (for inside cities).

JFTR, there are a couple of bug reports that may be related here. I'm not 100% sure if all of these describe the exact same issue.

In case there is anyone monitoring this thread: Good news! According to this post in the 1.39 thread, the issue has been resolved already. Thanks SCS! My wallet is ready for Colorado.
