"Duel" - my tribute to the film

#1 Post by Ton_majstor » 07 Dec 2015 11:44

I'm working for some time on one movie, to be exact... edit of the movie.

It's "Duel", directed by Steven Spielberg, from 1971. This movie is depiction of classic thriller encounter of two acters, a real duel between one simple, innocent car driver and psychotic truck driver, on barren roads of Eastern California.

My intention is to present this great movie (to me) in the light as I see it today, 45 years from it's release. And to give a proper tribute to the acters of this movie, and especially to Peterbilt 281, the most horrifying truck ever rolled on movie screen. Ever.

Hope you'll all enjoy this.

Btw, movie is based on the true story... :?

All the info for that movie is here:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067023/

... but, I'm here to present you shortened and dramatically changed version of it. It's depicted with original and my own music, wherever I found it appropriate.
My tribute to the Steven Spielberg's movie from 1971. and my favorite truck, Peterbilt 281, from 1955.

Separated in dramatic sections, re-edited, refreshed and illustrated by original or my own music.

All rights reserved by their owners.
Well, this topic will sure someday go to the ATS part of the forum, but for now, I want to present to all of you my version of this crucial "truckers" movie. At least for me.

My main goal is to push SCS to make DLC with this truck, for incoming ATS (I'm the alfa-tester of it, you know)... someday.

Please, watch this in HD, and on YT, if you like. And comment, after I finish posting all 11 parts of it.

In this first part of the movie we are introduced to the acters of this deadly game on the road.

For now, everything is looking innocent, but it's not pleasant.

After initial observation, acters are introducing some more to each other.

Or, at least, car driver thinks that this is passing event with some ego maniac.

In this part, car driver is (unclearly and slowly) understanding, for the first time, that he's dealing with some idiot, and he will hardly escape from this unharmed.

Now, it's SERIOUS and notihing like joke at all!

Truck driver is obviously want to kill or disable him... and add his car plate on his kill list (all those various license plates on front bumper of the Peterbilt truck).

There it is a first car crash in the movie.

Dramatic pause.

Who is that killer? Everyone is suspicious, everyone is looking for my dead head.

Paranoia is here a very appropriate feeling.

No, truck driver is not a "plain" serial killer. He don't want to kill kids, bus driver or anybody else around.

He wants that exact poor, red, Plymouth Valiant car driver.

The first and most direct assault on car driver.

Using train, btw.

This duel is getting very dangerous. Here's another try to kill the car driver, but this is the most direct one!

After all this, the only escape is to - RUN LIKE HELL!
