That's a second thing I thoght of. Lower restrictions and poor quality of tarmac here in Poland causes our roads in many places to look like a swiss cheese. Thanks to the trucks mostly.TruckSimChris wrote: ↑08 Jul 2017 18:48 @kitt94: Perhaps it's a little bit crazy.
But you have to understand we require many axles because we prioritize protecting our roads and bridges. That's why we call our weight law the "Bridge Formula".
Why so many axles?

Re: Why so many axles?
We call them "adgies". A shortened version of agitator. These are probably - wait.. definitely - the toughest rigid trucks to drive. The drum is constantly revolving, with a heavy, moving mass inside it.
If the drum is revolving towards the driver's side, it makes for "interesting" left-hand turns with a full load of concrete
And not seen one in ATS yet? Or am I missing it?

If you suck at playing the trumpet, that's probably why.

Re: Why so many axles?
In my town in Texas, we have four concrete companies (a town of 105,000). Only one uses the 5 axle variant. The others just use the 3 axle trucks.
We have:
ABC Concrete (about to be bought by Ingram)
OK Concrete
Ingram Concrete (Was Pitts and City Concrete) - uses the 5 axle trucks
Wind River Concrete (formed after Pitts and City were bought by Ingram)
@room217au:, I've seen concrete trucks in ATS, thought it might be from Jazzycat's mods. (Though, I have seen a 14 yard, 3 axle Mack dump truck that SCS added recently)

What C.P. calls made by Oshkosh, is what I usually...and probably the only sort of concrete mixer I see round North Carolina
Re: Why so many axles?
Any idea what he is hauling?
Re: Why so many axles?
From what I heard they are hauling steel with these trailers

Re: Why so many axles?
Those are platform trailers, I can only make a guess like, rolled steel plates. Those are daily needs of many factories and don't need huge long trailers for that.
