Cute little kid in the video. Had me chuckling. Looks like we have a future trucker. Now, as for Apple, I could care less. Android is superior and Apple is playing catchup, trying to limit Android by copyrighting existing features, then suing companies who are using the features before Apple patented them. (Apple patents also tend to be rather vague too)

I agree with you, Android auto is superior. I was just mentioning that it's nice that we are seeing smartphone integration in trucks.

I've been watching tons of videos on this truck and I am very impressed with what they have done. The interior appears to be cozy and well made. I like the fact that the windows have the "aircraft-style" shades to keep the light out when you don't want it.

Does anyone here know how to spell safety?
V-O-L-V-O.

Doing some more reading up on this truck and it is accepted internationally for a good rating on crash tests. The new VNL is the only manufacturer to have a STANDARD drivers side airbag. Also available is a rollover airbag to keep you from hitting the side in the event of a rollover, and a forward collision alert system.

That alone would sell me on the truck if I was looking into purchasing one.

Interesting statistic they put on their website, they say that companies that purchase and run a unit with i-Shift have 22% less accidents. Think what you want about manuals, but these automated ones are much better.

WAY too many variables in that figure. I'm sorry, I like Volvo, but in no way should one be influenced by that number. 22% less...less than what? And what are these companies? Do these companies run new drivers or experienced drivers only?

I'm surprised they don't use the systems they do in Europe. There isn't just a collision alert, but a full on automatic avoidance system.
