Re: Drive Safely's ATS journeys
Well my use of the Western Star didn't last long. It was too modern for my liking.
So I felt more at home by getting a Kenworth W900!

This drives amazing, and sounds amazing especially with modded engine sounds.
I very much prefer the visibility you get in the Kenworth W900 over the Peterbilt 389.

To feel more comfortable, I later had the backlight switched to orange.

I was free roaming and found a cool truck stop! The lighting was amazing as I was parking.

Both these Kenworth's look sweet!

Still enjoying my Kenworth! Took a cruise through the California reskin then parked up next to a burrito store

Re: Drive Safely's ATS journeys
Time to clear out the screenshots folder!
[ external image ]
Beautiful night scene, serene and away from the city
[ external image ]
Finally got around to visiting the hidden truck racing circuit! Time to see what this truck can do with an 18 speed transmission and over 600 horsepower.
[ external image ]
Managed to maintain some good speeds. I used the retarder to slow down on turns which made things more slippery, but it gave me faster braking needed for quicker laps.
The first curve on the track I can keep some good speed, but there are other curves where I can't go much over 35 mph otherwise tilting like this can happen! Unbelievably, I recovered from that tilt without any damage.
[ external image ]
Back on the road again looking for something to haul
[ external image ]
Hauled a Mobile Barrier, but I got a tricky delivery point where I had to back in, with the AI traffic to worry about.
[ external image ]
Almost there...
[ external image ]
Delivery successful! This would have been faster with a cabover but I made it work
[ external image ]
Resting at the Kenworth dealership, a perfect fit for the W900
[ external image ]
Beautiful day
[ external image ]
Had another delivery hauling a Mobile Barrier, but there was a detour I had to take near the delivery point.
I recognized this was the place with the hidden entrance to the truck racing circuit, so I just gently nudged the construction prop to clear some room for me to back in straight.

Nighttime scenery can really impress you sometimes! I like the lighting and peacefulness in this screenshot

Re: Drive Safely's ATS journeys
You need to make some more money to buy a bunk for the W900. With out it it's useless for long haul. Motels costs will eat you alive. Unless you hire on to a company that will pay for them. But I can't see that happening in ATS. IRL back when I was a car hauler, Anchor Mtr Frt paid for all motels as we didn't have bunks on our trucks.

I've hauled ass down the road to deliver new cars and trucks, fuel, freight, and produce. Now I'm addicted to ATS doing the same thing in a simulation.

@GT182 - I got so much money in ATS now I don't have to worry about it. I like driving the daycab with a big fuel tank, but that's just me.
Here's some screenshots from my Special Transport big air conditioner haul:

I got a feeling this truck will eventually reach 100,000 kilometers one day

Might switch trucks soon, but I know I'll come back to this!

Taking a tour on some winding roads with a beautiful view!

Getting quite the elevation here

Loving the chrome shine in this screenshot

I got lucky! My next run involved some reefer trailers to haul. It's surprising how relaxing the reefer unit sounds in game
