[UPD] Coast to Coast Map - v2.15.49.2 (28 Jan)

SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

Re: [UPD] Coast to Coast Map - v2.11.11 (UPD 05 Dec)
If I have been downloading from countless web-sites for over 20 years and have never encountered the onslaught of ad- and mal- ware that I have encountered with Mod sharing sites, that tells me these sites are not reputable. Whoever designed these web-sites seems more intent on causing grief than enhancing their visitor's pleasant experience in ATS. There is a better way to design a web-site than throwing all that garbage at their visitors. Or maybe they don't need to be perceived as ethical and responsible? How many more applications are we required to install just to be able to download their wares? Completely unnecessary for well designed and ethical web-sites.

I use UBlockOrigin and a paid account on Sharemods. No ads with a paid account.

You don't need to download anything, just get a decent adblocker and you're golden.

@DanskRidder. Unfortunately, despite our complaints about the Internet, all we can do is protect ourselves from the assaults you're talking about. There are countless ways to bypass their malicious intent and enjoy great web surfing without slowing down our connection speed. Take a look at your browser first and ask yourself if he allows you to have advanced protection while browsing. As Blackspots says, use uBlock Origin, this is the best utility I know of; with a good setup, you won't be bothered anymore.
If you need help, I'm ready to help you. Good luck!

And now back to the real issues.....
ATS is crashing on me when driving on I-25 near Santa Fe, NM with the following errors:
00:03:17.090 : <ERROR> Failed to find parent item 0x62A1C45D8230003 for payload data from '/map/usa/sec-0010+0005.data'.
00:03:17.090 : <ERROR> d:\buildbot\slaves\win_slave\final_build_ats_139_windows_bin_steam_x64\build\prism\eurotrucks\game\management\sector_manager.cpp(592): ?load@map_sector_u@prism@@QEAA_NAEAV?$auto_ptr_t@Vfile_t@prism@@@2@W4sector_file_type_t@2@@Z: Inconsistent sector data!
I see this sector data file in Coast_to_Coast_v2.11.11.scs and removed it, but ATS still crashes. I'm thinking this is an SCS bug with New Mexico, but wanted to check with the experts first. Anyone know how I might be able to fix it myself?

It could be the stay sector -0010 +0006 that is in there as well.

Thank you, BlackSpots, for mentioning UBlockOrigin, that made a world of difference. Now the downloads behave as expected with no ads and other unwanted distractions. I also had a paid account that hadn't expired yet, the UBlockOrigin made all the difference.

While I appreciate your comments, FrenchMan, I still maintain that what I have encountered on these web-sites is not normal. Were it normal, why would you suggest "there are countless ways to bypass their malicious intent"! And why would any reasoning and responsible entity have malicious intent after attracting visitors to their site? Anti-social? Psychopathic? It simply doesn't compute. It simply is not normal, ethical, or responsible, and definitely not professional to hide behind all that cr*p.Frenchman wrote: ↑03 Mar 2021 15:54 @DanskRidder. Re: [UPD] Coast to Coast Map - v2.11.11 (UPD 05 Dec)
Now that I have been able to download the Mexico and Coast To Coast Maps, I have encountered another hurdle. When I enter the Map Mode the Coast to Coast Map seems to end at Mobile Alabama, and Mexico ends at Jimenez, yet I was able to drive farther South, it just didn't show on the Map (if that makes sense?). And when I try to zoom in, the map does not zoom in on Mobile or Jimenez. A picture would illustrate this better than I can explain it, but I don't know how to attach a picture.
