SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. I have resumed work on the map as of today. Thank you all for your kind words of support on my fathers passing.

Ok am bringing both maps into line with the current patch. got a few things I need to work out that have appeared and some new road types t make so Scenes wont appear on certain sections. i.e. Atigun Pass or Chandalar or Yukon River Bridge.

Question to any modders out there.
I would like to replace the fire engine that appears when the fireman is chopping a tree down. Unfortunately if I replace it in unit/hookup/special_vehicles.sii it also affects other events with the fire engine and I just want to replace it in that one scene only. Anyone know how to do this. I have spent about 5 hours looking to no avail.

I want to replace it with this, which I have already made as it makes more sense rather than having a Fairbanks Firetruck all up and down the Elliot and Dalton. The Fireman is ok as these guys wear the same uniforms alot.

Fixed and replaced the lights not working on the Fairbanks, State Trooper and North Slope Borough Police Explorers as well.

Glad to see you back. Don't know much about how to assign vehicles to the special events so I can't help you there. But I am looking forward to your updated map.

Seems these scenes have sdb files inside map/scenes folder and I cant see anyway to edit them. These would contain the contents for each scene. Also sent SCS a tweet.
I think these are handled with a different editor to the map editor and not just a case of ediiting sii files.

Do you think you'll push an update in the meantime or are you really hoping to tackle the random events before you do? Assuming you don't have the random events close enough anyway. Just kinda curious how you're looking at it.

I've got to say, I really have missed this map. I'd revert and use it, but then so many mods are on 1.30 and may not work with 1.28 so I've resorted to waiting as long as it took.

I have these hopeless dreams of learning the editor and starting my own 1:1 map project but I don't think I'd get there. You though, you've done great. Narrow scope, highly specialized, it's great.

Hopefully this weekend just want to tackle a few things that need fixing up and a couple of fixes for the summer map. Need to get some new roads made and replace at certain sections along the Elliot and Dalton where I dont want random events spawning. Particularly in places like Atigun Pass, Chandalar Shelf, Yukon River Bridge and the other bridges along the way as well as where there are guardrails along corners as the event broken down buses tend to impale themselves on them. Id widen the road but with some of the prefab intersections I am using it messes things up as they are old and dont have shoulders. Tried to fix that by adding some but that didnt work.

Just a thought on the random events problem. People can turn off random events on the slider in game options.
That is what most people do in mp. It is still strange driving with someone who swerves to change lanes
because they still have RE

Just a note, and maybe you handled it already, but last time I drove the winter map there was still an issue getting called to the scale at Fox when southbound and getting fined before you got to the scale at all. I know was up to date on the patches and whatnot. Like I said, you might have already figured that out.

I have only ever run the winter map myself. I suppose I should try the summer amp but the winter + 100% weather helps with the crap draw distance in ATS.

I'm very happy to read that you decided to continue development - besides the unlucky circumstances - on this map! I'm really looking forward to a compatibility update for 1.30!

Currently this is the only 1:1 map for American Truck Simulator (or did I miss one?) and personally I very much prefer driving in real scale, since you aren't as much in a rush as with the 1:20 scale (you can park anywhere, it doesn't matter if the traffic light is within a city or not, etc.).

@Dazlistic its not really a problem as it can be fixed easily. The only problem I have atm is that there is no Editor for the events which are stored in an SDB file thus I cant change the vehicle in one particular random event to a more suitable vehicle that fits this map without it affecting certain other random events that also use that vehicle. Although there is a function for trajectories for the recent ETS2 Addon with Escort Vehicles. Not that its of any use at the moment to ATS as we dont have Escort Vehicles as of yet that Im aware of. Not really looking forward to editing those lol.

@xTHANATOPSISx Think I fixed it on the Summer Map and the upcoming Winter one is a port of the Summer Map directly so it should be gone from that as well. Will check though.


EDIT: Ha I think I figured it out with the SDB Files. Gonna try it out but first need to create a standalone model for the vehicle.

Something isnt right but I am getting closer. Darn thing just doesnt want to work though. I think I am missing an sii file somewhere or a sui file.

instead of this all the way up and down the Dalton and Elliot from Fairbanks to Deadhorse as the engine is specifically Fairbanks whereas the vehicle I want to use is AK Division of Forestry.
